I woke up next morning with a strange weight on my shoulder. I opened my eyes and looked around the tent.
I must've fallen asleep on the airbag in the main section of the tent because that's where I lay. I turned and saw Ururaka's face next to mine, her head had been resting on my shoulder. I turned red and moved quickly away from her, my sudden movement waking her up.
"Deku?"
"U-ururaka? Why were you asleep next to me?"
"I came into the tent and saw you passed out on the floor so I decided to rest you on the airbag. Then I felt how soft it was and thought lying down for five minutes wouldn't hurt."
I walked out of the tent and checked around the place. It was a sunny day, ideal for camping, and there was already a few people up and wandering.
I made sure to check that Mr Aizawa wasn't awake before going inside to get one of my folding chairs and the strange book I'd found yesterday afternoon. It had been on the edge of my mind for a while now and I couldn't ignore it any longer.
I opened it up and started reading the first part of the guide, written by seemingly the 'last Hamon user'.
The first part was entitled The Basics Of Hamon.
Hamon is a difficult art that only a chosen few bloodlines have the ability to master. It is a technique that infuses one's body with the power of the sun and allows the user to manipulate it freely, be that transferring it to their surroundings or using it to pack one hell of a punch. It lies in the way a person controls their breathing and the power they can draw out from their own personal stores. Each Hamon user can draw out a certain amount of power that is unique to them. For example, a close friend of mine was able to draw out his Hamon in a way that created powerful bubbles that spread his energy out. This section will teach my successor how to quantify the amount of power one can draw out with Hamon and how to use it in a basic body-enhancing form.
This book really was strange, yet I was unable to take my eyes from it's pages. The thought than a superhuman ability other than quirks existed was nothing new to me because I had theorized that's what Star Platinum is.
As I stated previously, the key to Hamon lies in the breathing. If a person is able to control their breathing correctly then their Hamon will come forth in the form of lightning-like tendrils emerging from your body. This is the power of Hamon that runs in you. The more of these tendrils that appear, the more Hamon energy you possess.
I followed the book's instructions on how to draw out the power of Hamon and bend it to my will. I imagined the sun and it's flares, each one emanating from it with heat enough to melt anything that came near. As I did this I noticed a few weak tendrils appearing around me but it was only when I truly envisioned the flares in detail that my Hamon energy really began to show through. My whole body was glowing slightly and covered in tendrils, they arced over and around my body with fierce intensity. It was like a lightning storm of strength that rolled around me as long as my breathing remained calm.
I looked back at the book's instructions and turned to the bit that said Large amounts of Hamon.
If your body is displaying large amounts of this energy then it is vital you learn how to transfer it and conduct it through things. This allows you to react with your environments in new ways, such as forcing water to hold the shape of a basketball on the tip of one finger. To do this you must feel at one with the object. You must imagine giving this object part of your strength and it taking that strength. You must then envision strongly what you want that object to do with your energy. Once you learn this then you can begin to lean how to fight with Hamon.
