I woke up really early the next day. About 4:30am. The time we were scheduled to leave at was 6:30 so I had quite a bit of time to train.
I unzipped our tent quietly and walked outside, breathing in the fresh air for probably the last time in a while. After all, camping is a rare occurrence.
I strolled through the middle of the tents and looked at our surroundings in the forest. It really was beautiful. Trees on all sides with a golden sunshine that had barely crested the hills shining through. I smiled as I found the place where Kacchan had been training yesterday, now just a crater with damaged trees all over.
I walked all the way to where I had picked up the book on Hamon and entered the cavern. The pedestal lay still in the same location and I thought about how the book had helped me during the trip.
Maybe I should make this area a bit bigger as training.
I summoned Star Platinum and started doing my daily experimentations. I focused more today on the improved senses of Star Platinum, seeing how well it's eyesight could be used alongside it's hearing and sense of smell. I even tried tasting things to see if it's sense of taste was improved.
Let's say that was not an experiment to try when all you have to lick is unknown rocks and a ghost with heightened senses to lick them with.
It was 6am when I headed back. I had used far too much time so Star Platinum was helping me by using it's legs to make me leap in bounds that rivaled All Might's.
I got back to a full-blown panic of a class. The 3/4 of the class who'd slept in Yaoyorozu's tent were desperately trying to take it down. I landed next to Iida.
"You're gonna need a demolition crew for that one Iida."
He stopped giving orders.
"I'm ashamed to say it Midoriya but you may be right. Yaoyorozu has already said she does not mind the loss but it would be quite the blow to my pride if we didn't get it down in time."
Spoiler alert. They didn't. Even after I pitched in with Star Platinum and Ururaka made some of the heavier stuff weightless they still failed to bring down the gargantuan structure in the time given. We did manage however, to evacuate our stuff before Mr Aizawa shoved us all on a bus to be at U.A before it opened.
The most interesting thing that happened on the bus trip was me summoning star platinum on the roof and using it's eyes and senses to feel what it would be like up there. It was still an interesting experience though.
Back at school we all unloaded our stuff and left it near the bus. We were all in our seats for homeroom and Mr Aizawa began as if the past few days had not happened, although he was still giving me a shifty look.
"You children have finally settled in to U.A. You've proven your worth to your teachers but now is your time to show yourselves to the world. I'm sure you all know this but the sports festival is approaching fast. This means we'll be training you even harder than usual. If you thought your previous training was hell then you've seen nothing yet."
We all looked at each other in fear. Except me of course, I was already doing a ton of training as extra anyways.
After he finished talking he gave us some time to talk that I spent reviewing my notes on everyone and adding details I'd learnt from the camping trip. I did take a moment to listen to everyone's conversations and noticed that Ururaka seemed overly excited about the topic.
I decided to ask her about it at lunchtime. I found her with Iida just outside the classroom.
"Oh that." She said "It was just because I want to show the pro heroes how good I am."
