The next day was a school one. Me and Ururaka made our way there like normal and took our seats. Several people on the way congratulated me on my winning the sports festival. I noticed Iida seemed slightly more subdued and asked Ochaco about it.
"During the time you were fighting Bakugo Iida had to leave for a family emergency. Apparently his brother was attacked and hospitalised."
I felt terrible for him and made a mental note to ask him about it later. Now would be a terrible time to do it because I could see Mr Aizawa standing up.
"Later on today you'll be deciding hero names. These will be what you are called for the rest of your career. Do not pick something like Eraser Head, it will ruin you inside."
I hadn't put much thought towards a hero name. It never occurred to me really.
-it's usually my policy not to timeskip because things add to my wordcount but I had no idea how to write this bit. I'm just going to stick to what the anime did-
Thank god that was over. It was difficult but I got a name down in the end. I decided to rub Kacchan's nickname for me in his face by making my hero name Deku. I swore that it would become a symbol for anyone who felt like a Deku.
Also face it. Imagine the irony. The number 1 hero in the world's name meaning useless.
That's the world I want to live in.
Next thing Mr Aizawa did was announce how many offers for internships we had. Tons of pro heroes wanted us to work for them in future because of how we'd preformed in the sports festival.
Kacchan and Todoroki got plenty of people wanting them purely because they showed how good they were in combat. Me and Ururaka blew everyone out of the water with our numbers though. So many people had seen us take a beating and get back up that we had become celebrities overnight. If we picked an agency they'd become the centre of media attention for the whole week we were there.
He handed us all lists with various names of agencies and even some solo heroes. The lists for me and Ururaka were nearly identical, except I had a few more notable agencies due to winning.
At lunch we were sitting crossing off agencies. So far our plan was to go to the same agency and learn the same stuff. I crossed off another name and turned to Ururaka.
"Gunhead looks like a good choice. You want to learn hand-to-hand combat right?"
"Yeah. It's useful for my quirk."
"Write that one down on the possibe choices then."
Then a particular name caught my eye. They were a solo name and, if my memory served me right, not even a hero.
Jotaro Kujo.
What's a world-famous marine biologist got to do with heroes?
My curiosity was getting the better of me. I turned to Ururaka and told her that I'd go to this one.
"Oh I've got that one too! We can go together!"
"Great. Let's tell Mr Aizawa"
He seemed lightly surprised by our choice. Almost as if he knew the guy. As I was on the way out of the door he stopped me.
"Midoriya. I'll tell him you want to do your internship with him. But I'd be careful around the guy, he might seem cold but he's a nice guy if you get on his good side."
I later asked Iida about his brother. The conversation was very short but it definitely made him feel better.
Mr Aizawa told us at the end of the day to meet Mr Kujo at the municipal beach park, apparently he wanted to get started as quick as possible. We made our way there after school, stooping only to explain to my mother why I would be missing tea.
