(This is the first instance of me changing the plot of the story. This arc goes just before the sports festival and will be focused on building the characters and relationships between them)
The hospital let us both out by the end of the next week. Ururaka got let out the day before me but kept visiting for as long as she could. She was my only company in that room except for the doctors and it was always a blast while she was there.
Me and Ururaka finally walked to school together again on Monday morning. The whole class was ready to welcome me back. They had all seen the footage of the USJ and were congratulating me on my efforts. The version they had seen must have been filmed from a view in which you couldn't see Mr Aizawa's mouth when he talked to me about Star Platinum's ability to stop time because they seemed not to know about that.
"Alright class. Sit back down. That includes you Midoriya, just because you healed up some cuts doesn't quite make you a pro yet."
We all sat down and listened to his normal welcoming speech before he spoke up again with something different.
"As you all know, the USJ school trip did not quite go as planned. Everyone in this room fought like real heroes to defeat your opponents. Of course, the ones who ran from their opponents were equally as heroic. A good hero must know when to fight and when to run away. Either way, the principle wants you all to ease up a bit so he's scheduled a camping trip for the whole class that involves none of the usual hero training. The trip will be for three days with us leaving on the third at 5pm. The school will provide two-man tents for those without one but if you have any supplies feel free to bring them. I'll even accept tents from home if you wish for it. All Might won't be coming on this trip and your partners for the tents are completely up to you."
Mineta raised his hand.
"Will the tents be separated by gender?"
"For everyone who isn't you, no. For you Mineta, yes."
"No fair" grumbled Mineta as he slouched down in his chair.
I raised my hand.
"If All Might isn't coming then who is?" I asked
"Me and Present Mic. Apparently the other teachers seem to think I need to learn how to 'have fun'. Is that all for questions? Good. Today will proceed as usual and tomorrow we leave for the trip. If you're late then I'll make you walk there."
He dismissed us and we started to go to our regular morning lessons. I was just packing away my notebook when Ururaka tapped me on the shoulder.
"Hey Deku!"
"Oh. H-hey Ururaka, you need something?"
"I was wondering if you wanted to share a tent for the camping trip tomorrow. It would be like a big sleepover!"
"Y-yeah sure. My mother took me camping when I was younger and I think we've still got the tent. It's definitely big enough for four people, never mind two. We could bring board games and card games and..."
"Umm Deku? You're muttering again"
I caught it.
"Thanks Ururaka. Make sure you bring all of your games and cool stuff so we can have tons of fun. Also bring all your camping supplies and spare clothes and a toothbrush and..."
"Deku. The muttering"
"Sorry! It's a really bad habit of mine. Ever since I was a kid I kept constantly talking to myself because I had no one else to talk to."
"Well now you do. You have me."
"Yeah. Sorry"
"It's fine"
