Jayda's POV
Sweet Pea winced in pain as I put rubbing alcohool on his wounds. He flinched away.
"Hold still." I said, and I held his face in place. "You're such a wuss."
"Am not!" he defended, and flinched away again.
"Hold still!" I repeated. I climbed on his lap, and continued to clean his wounds.
"Did they hurt you?" he asked me.
"Just Fish Lips, but that was it. Didn't really hurt that much." I replied. I got a wet cloth and put it up on his forming black eye.
"You sure you're okay?" he asked me, and took the cloth from my hand.
"Yes." I stated. "What about you? Archie hit you pretty good."
"I hit him better." he explained.
"If you say so." I said. I took the cloth and put it on the coffee table with the rest of the stuff. "You know, you looked really hot in the rain."
"Really?" he asked. I nodded. He pulled me towards him, and kissed me passionately. We continued to make out, until we heard a knock at the door.
"If that's Fangs, so help me." I groaned.
"If it was Fangs, he'd just walk in." Sweet Pea argued. I climbed off his lap, and he went to open the door.
"Sheriff Keller." he greeted. I stood up and walked to the door. They were hand-cuffing Sweet Pea.
"What the hell?!" I exclaimed. "What's going on?!"
"You're both under arrest for jumping Dilton Doiley, and stabbing him." the sheriff said, and he handcuffed me.
"We didn't stab him!" I exclaimed. We were thrown in the back of a sheriff crusier, and driven to the station.
-----
All the younger Serpents were locked in holding cells, girls in one, boys in the other. Toni had been arrested, even though she wasn't even there.
The entire night, no-one really slept. It was freezing cold, and really, really uncomfortable.
Early the next morning, someone opened the cells.
"You're free to go." he boomed. We all rushed out quickly. Sweet Pea threw his arms around me, and hugged me tightly.
"Let's go home." he said. We went back to his trailer, and caught up on sleep.
-----
The next morning, I changed back into the clothes from last night, and we drove to school.
Fangs, Sweet Pea, Toni, me and a couple other Serpents, were gathered around a table. We were discussing plans.
Jughead came down the stairs, and we looked at him.
"Nice article your girlfriend's mom wrote." Sweet Pea said, as Jughead approached the table.
"Yeah, I saw that." Jughead replied. "Dilton Doiley said he was stabbed and a bunch of you guys jumped him."
"The idiot stabbed himself, with his own knife." Fangs argued for all of us.
"And we didn't jump him." Sweet Pea added. "There was a fight. Bulldogs versus Serpents. And, you see this?" he pointed to his black eye. "Your boy, Andrews gave it to me, just before his girlfriend shot a gun into the air."
"What happened?" Jughead asked, as if he didn't hear the last conversation.
"And, of course, Northsiders get off scot free, and the rest of us are hauled in by the police." Sweet Pea continued.
"It's payback time." Fangs said.
"What are you guys talking about?" Jughead asked, looking down at our plans. "What is-- What is that? Is that a pipe bomb?" He looked at me.
"Fogarty's cousin served in the Army. He's gonna build us something." Sweet Pea answered.
"We'll do it after hours. But, it'll shut the Riverdale Register once and for all." Fangs continued.
"You think blowing up a building is going to make things better?" Jughead asked us, angrily.
"It can't get any worse." Sweet Pea replied.
"Yeah, Sweet Pea, it can." Jughead said. "Let me talk to Archie, figure this out."
"Man, that's your answer for everything. Talk and more talk." Sweet Pea retorted. "And we don't even know who you stand with. Us? Or them? You can't be half a Serpent."
They picked up their stuff, and left. So, it was just me, Toni, and my brother.
"Great. So, Archie started World War III." Jughead complained, sitting with me and Toni.
"Northside has been dumping on us for years." Toni told Jughead. "Your dad tried to keep the peace. Avoid bloodshed. Now that he's gone, idiots like Sweet Pea think there's only one path, and one solution. Violence."
"I'm surprised you didn't go with them just now, Jay." Jughead commented.
"Sweet Pea's angry, he needs to cool off before he hits something." I replied, arms crossed. "And, besides, I would have never let them blow up a building."
-----
I was sitting at the table, doing my homework, when Jug came out of his room with a plan. He told me, and he grabbed his Serpent jacket before leaving.
We walked into the Whyte Wyrm, Jughead wearing said jacket.
"I think this Northsider's lost." Sweet Pea commented, and I rolled my eyes.
"I'm not." Jughead said. "I'm over being half a Serpent."
"Wow. You'll do anything to protect your Northside buddies." Sweet Pea replied, walking around the pool table, then hitting Jug with his shoulder.
"Just, lay off, Sweet Pea." I said, annoyed.
"My father was a Serpent." Jug started. "He led you. My sister is a Serpent, and is basically leading you now. I wanna stand with you guys." After a few seconds if silence, he continued. "Tallboy was the one who gave me this jacket. And he was instructed to do so, by Jayda. It's finally time I start wearing it."
"So, now you wanna be a Serpent, huh?" Tallboy questioned, moving towards Jughead. "Let's see if you survive the initiation first."
"I'm looking forward to punching you in the face." I told my brother.
"What?" Jug asked. I ignored him, and I went over to my boyfriend.
"What's up with you today?" I asked him.
"I'm just angry, okay." he said, and continued to play pool. I put my hand on his arm, and pushed him to face me.
"No. No, you need to tell me." I protested.
"I'm just angry, because we got arrested last night, and because Fish Lips hit you." he replied.
"I've told you, I'm fine." I responded. He hugged me, and we stayed like that for a while.
