Jayda's POV
"All right, Order of the Ophidians..." Jughead said, and I taped up the poster he'd given me. Betty and Jughead had come up with a plan to find the head, so Mayor McCoy couldn't evict all of us. If only it was that simple.
"Jughead and Jayda Jones." we heard a far do familiar voice. Penny Peabody. "Did you really think you'd seen the last of me?"
"What's the Snake Charmer doing here?" Jughead asked the group of Serpents. "Dad?"
"No, I brought her in to help us." Tallboy answered.
"We don't need Penny's kind of help." Jughead continued.
"You don't get a say anymore. Not since you broke Serpent law and hurt one of our own kind." Tallboy stated. "Penny was about to tell your dad. Show him, Penny. Show them all."
Penny pulled up her sleeve, and slammed her elbow on the table. In the place where her Serpent tattoo used to be, was a red mark that went into her skin. I knew that was a terrible idea, Jughead. Dad looked horrified.
"That used to be my Serpent tattoo." Penny said to Dad, looking him in the eye. "Until your son sliced a chunk out of my arm and left me bleeding in a ditch in Greendale."
Dad leaned forward and put his head in his hands.
"But, I'm still willing to help the Serpents." Penny continued. "Tallboy showed me those eviction notices. They're legit. But, luckily, I can think of about 41 ways to stall the process. And I'm talking years."
"What's your price, Penny?" Dad asked her.
"Blood for blood." she answered, standing up. "And eye for an eye.I want back in with the Serpents, and I want him kicked out. Oh, yeah, one last thing. I want his tattoo carved off. And I want to do it myself. With a dirty knife."
-----
After sending Jughead back to the trailer, and discussing what was going to happen, Dad and I headed back to the trailer as well, to break the news to Jughead.
"Well? What did they say? Are they kicked me out?" Jughead bombarded as we walked in.
"There's going to be a vote." I started.
"You versus Penny." Dad finished for me. I threw my helmet on the couch and sighed, running my hands through my hair.
"Me versus...?" Jughead trailed off. "What? They can't see what we get with Penny in the picture?"
"Penny's a cobra, but mutilating her?" Dad said, true pain in his voice. "That's a kind of thing you don't come back from, Jug."
"Yeah, like stuffing a teenager's body in a freezer?" Jughead snapped back. Dad lunged forward and pinned him against the wall. At least I now know where I get my anger from.
"You need to learn to keep your damn mouth shut." Dad retorted. "Tallboy was right. You brought the Northside down on us. Serpents are losing their dens because of what you wrote."
"Don't kid yourself." Jughead said, shoving Dad off him. "They're using my article. And they're using what happened to the statue of General Pickens as an excuse to justify what they've already been doing."
"What you think you're a hero, Jug? Cutting up women?" Dad questioned. "Bringing the temple down right on our damn heads? You... will be the death of us. Not the Northside. Not Penny. You."
Dad stormed into his room, and Jughead collapsed onto the couch. Whenever they have an argument, it's not pretty.
I went to my room, and grabbed a bag and put a spare change of clothes in. I came out and Jughead looked at me.
