Jayda's POV

I walked into my trailer that night, and saw Alice grilling Betty and Jughead.

"Has shacking up together driven you both completely insane?" Alice asked/yelled. "Taking to the sheriff's son about that car, you didn't think that was going to raise any red flags?"

"No, Kevin didn't suspect anything." Betty answered.

"At least we know what's going on now." Jughead pointed out. I, had no idea what they were talking about. It was something about the car.

"Yeah, which is that Chic's drug-dealer stole someone's car before he made his run to our house." Betty agreed. Nice. Chic killed his own drug dealer.

"Dwayne didn't have wheels, he was always borrowing his girlfriend's car." Chic spoke. This was the first time I heard him talk, the first time I'd seen him, really.

"Someone called the shady mans phone while I had it." Betty continued. "And, she sounded like a crazy person. But, not like there was a lot of love lost there between her and Dwayne."

"That could be Darla, yeah." Chic nodded.

"Is this Darla someone we need to be worried about?" Alice asked her son.

"Uh, I don't really know her." Chic shrugged.

"Shocker." Betty commented. "Gee, Chic, have you ever been helpful in any way to anyone?"

"Enough, Elizabeth." Alice sighed.

"Stick to the plan. This has nothing to do with us." Dad commanded. "Dwayne stole Darla's car, Darla got it back. Let's hope it ends there."

"And pack your things, Betty. Because, this honeymoon is over. Over." Alice announced. "You two, playing house and running around town like loose cannons is beyond the pale. We don't want Hal finding out about this. The last thing we need is for him to stick his nose in it."

"I'll move out." Chic spoke up. Everyone turned to him. "I'll get a place. Betty, it's your house, not mine."

"Fine." Betty stated. "I'll come back home after Chic's gone."

"Oh, I'm done with your ultimatums, young lady. You're coming home now." Alice shot back. "And if you don't back me up on this, FP, I will tear this trailer apart with my bare hands."

Dad didn't say anything, he just got up, and walked into the kitchen where I had been standing this whole time.

"Oh, hey Jay. When did you get here?" He asked me, humbly.

"Thanks, Dad. It's not like I was here the entire time." I said, sarcastically. Then, Alice and Betty came past to get her stuff.

Then, my phone buzzed with a message from Toni. She told me to meet her at Thistlehouse, in ten minutes.

"Now that you've barged your way in, go ahead, girls." Penelope stated. "Ask your questions."

"You said Cheryl was away at some boarding school?" Toni asked. There was a quick pause.

"Honestly, I'm not in the habit of explaining myself to school girls." Penelope shot back. She went to stand behind Nana Rose's chair.

"Maybe not, Mrs. Blossom, but you may have heard that my mother is... dating Sheriff Keller." Josie spoke up. "If you won't tell us the truth, maybe you'll tell him."

"All right, then." She agreed. "The truth is that Cheryl started exhibiting, strange, deviant behaviour. So, I sent her abroad to a private wellness institute where they're trying to help her."
