Izuku probably wasn't as excited for the move as much as he should have been. He really only just got used to his childhood apartment again, and now he has to get used to a whole new house. Don't get him wrong; he loves the house and is happy to have space. He just doesn't really like the timing of the move.
Either way, Christmas was in a few days time and everyone's been so busy that no one had bought any presents with the exception of Inko, but she usually buys them in advance.
So that meant on Christmas Eve, Izuku, Hisashi and Tenko all went out to the mall to buy all the presents they needed to. Izuku ended up buying individual presents for the entire Bakugou family as well as the Midoriya family. The trip was tense, but understandably so. Izuku hadn't been in a crowd that big (let alone at this height) since the beginning years of the War. There just wasn't many people alive in the later years. Tenko on the other hand still had some mental issues about his quirk. Izuku didn't know the whole story, but he knew enough to understand why he was scared.
With Christmas shopping done and everything wrapped, Izuku thought he could finally relax. He thought wrong. Apparently, the Bakugou's were coming to celebrate the following day. Knowing how Katsuki could be, Izuku took Tenko aside to warn him about Katsuki's almost brash personality. Tenko was understandably wary, but Izuku really hoped they could get along.
The morning arrived seemingly too quickly for Izuku's liking, and was now seated on the couch between an antsy Tenko and an increasingly irritated Katsuki.
"How much longer we gotta wait? We've been sitting here forever!" Hopefully not much longer, thought Izuku. Katsuki was reaching explosion point.
"Calm down brat! We'll be ready soon. While you're waiting you could at least introduce yourself to little Tenko there!" Mitsuki yelled from the kitchen, making Tenko jump then flinch at being named.
Katsuki was grumbling under his breath about stupid hag doesn't know shit and the kid looks like he's about to make a run for it. He did still turn to Tenko, leaning over Izuku, and point at him. "Bakugou Katsuki, and you better remember it. Zuku and I will be the best damn hero duo you'll ever see."
Tenko just sat there looking at Katsuki for a second before he realized that he should probably introduce himself back. "Um, Shimura Tenko. But I think I'm going to be a Midoriya? I'm really Izuku's cousin but I'm being adopted soon so I'll be his brother."
They sat there staring at eachother (Katsuki appraising and Tenko waiting for some sort of response) for a solid minute before Katsuki nodded approvingly and looked Izuku straight in the eye. "I like him. He's a good one. Keep him." He sat back on the couch after saying his piece.
Before Izuku could so much as look questioningly at him, the adults came back into the room carrying all the gifts and some food.
They went in a circle, everyone giving gifts to whoever's turn it was. Mitsuki got some higher quality beauty products of various kinds and brands and some bath bombs, Masaru got some books and a new kitchenware set, Inko got bath bombs too, as well as some hair care products and perfume. Hisashi's gifts were all over the place. He got a collection of quirk theory books, a new clip-on tie (which Izuku found amusing - he wasn't the only one who couldn't tie a tie properly) and from Izuku he got a realistic, posable All Might action figure. Hisashi looked absolutely disgusted with this gift, while Izuku was smiling smugly, almost challenging him to talk shit about it.
After the adults all got their gifts, it was time for the three kids to get theirs. Tenko was first and he got a shirt, some decorations for his new room, a portable gaming console with some games, school supplies and a small zen garden. Izuku's gifts were next, and he got a pile of hero merch, some proper notebooks with high quality stationary (no Kacchan, he was not drooling over it), as well as a matching console to Tenko's (Tenko had a grey one whereas Izuku got green). Katsuki also got hero merch, as well as a few other things, but a couple of scorch marks on the box of an Endeavor figure caught Izuku's attention.
