"I still can't believe you chose to use your actual quirk for when you're a hero." Izuku stated in minor disbelief to his father on their way to their local retirement home. It was a nice day out, for winter anyway, and the home wasn't that far away so they decided to walk instead of drive. Izuku's glad that they did though, because he doesn't think he could handle being in the car with his father when he was almost literally glowing with pride and excitement.

"It'll mean I get more media time faster, and I'll be more versatile and thus better equipped to handle villains and rescues alike."

"Yes, I get that. But what about those who are trying to hunt you down? All Might, Nezu, Gran Torino - Sir Nighteye and Tsukauchi should be in on it sooner or later too."

His concerns were just waved off. "It's fine, it's fine. If it comes down to it I'll just say I'm All for One's son or something. I managed to get away and live my own life and had to put down only one of my Quirks to try and hide."

"Believable, especially taking into consideration what people think about you, but that won't fly for Tsukauchi. Unless of course you have a Quirk that messes with a lie detector Quirk." All for One's grin just grew at that, and his eyes glittered.

"Oooo sounds like fun! It's been a while since I've seen a Quirk like that. Of course I can fool the Quirk, but it'd be much more fun to go around it."

Izuku just sighed. "Well what about when people ask about why you've come out now to put down your real Quirk?"

"Easy! He only had an age slowing Quirk, not a youth Quirk or whatever else they think it is. He simply got too old to do much anymore. Summoned me there to pass on his horde of Quirks and died afterwards."

"I-I guess that could work. But how are you going to get it through the bureaucracy? You can only change your file to something if it's similar to what was already there."

"I have contacts. Anyway, here we are! To get your first Quirks!" And there they stood, outside the front doors of the Musutafu Aged Care Retirement Home. The building wasn't much to look at, with a plain exterior, a plain signboard, and a set of plain automatic doors. On the inside Izuku could see a plain reception area with incredibly plain staff. Overall, plain, unassuming, and something that's definitely suspicious. He narrowed his eyes.

"Do you own this place?" From the surprised splutter and vehement denials he'll take that as a yes.

After walking in and being taken to the lounge area (they had called ahead and explained the situation, and the staff agreed to let them come and ask the residents. Again, suspicious) Izuku set about asking those that were there. There were several people, about half with mutation quirks. His father had warned him not to take any, as if he takes them and activates them he could damage his body and/or be in a lot of pain, so those residents were out. A couple were revealed to be Quirkless, which was bad luck, but there were still a few who had emitter Quirks. No one there had a transformation Quirk (well, apart from this one grumpy old lady who was going senile and thought Izuku was a Makuragaeshi, but that's neither here nor there). In the end, Izuku left with a minor speed enhancer, as well as a Quirk called Solid Light, and another called Shadow Curtain.

Solid Light was pretty self explanatory; it allowed him to be able to manipulate the light around him to make a solid form. He could make shields, floating platforms, springboards, swords, spears, bullets. Really the limit was only his creativity and how long it took before his fingers started going numb.

Shadow Curtain, on the other hand, was a type of stealth Quirk. If he was in darkness or completely in a shadow he could become almost invisible, you would only be able to visibly detect him if you managed to see the slight distortions on the edges of his form. The drawback is that the longer it's activated, the more fatigued and headachey he'll get.
