In the following few months after Izuku's kidnapping, many of the group that took him were found and captured. Most of the inner circle and the Boss remained at large, and the captured members weren't giving any information about them away.
Izuku was now not allowed to walk home, instead Kurogiri picked him and Katsuki up from kindergarten every day. Unfortunately, because of the incident, it became harder for Izuku to see Hitoshi and the Todoroki's. He still found managed to though.
However, there was something worrying Izuku; Katsuki was starting to turn out similarly to how he did in the last timeline. It started with small things, hardly noticeable, but then Katsuki started becoming a bully again. Izuku was deeply worried for his friend and didn't want another falling out, so he investigated as to why. The teachers, while encouraging to Katsuki, weren't as discriminatory or enabling as much as last time. In fact they were hardly so. They still praised and encouraged Katsuki, but things were more equal among the class. So, Izuku concluded, it couldn't be them. That leaves the other kids (specifically Tsubasa and finger kid, Izuku still wasn't quite sure on his name), and his parents. Honestly, knowing Mitsuki, it was probably her.
Izuku did the only thing he could think of at the time, and broke into the Bakugou house. Several times. Just for observation purposes. Mitsuki did say that he was welcome any time, so it's not like he couldn't be there. They just didn't know that he was.
Either way, what Izuku found was appalling. It was very quickly apparent that without outside eyes looking, Mitsuki was immensely physically and emotionally abusive to both Kacchan and Masaru. Izuku is starting to see a pattern form among his closest friends and didn't know how to think about it.
He took the matter to his parents straight away (with evidence of course, both images and audio/video recordings). Naturally, Inko didn't want to believe it at first, but quickly changed her tune when Izuku supplied his recordings. Hisashi was more open to the idea, stating "I always suspected there was something going on behind closed doors."
Honestly, it didn't take long to get a case together and the two Bakugou males away from the mother. Since they didn't have their own place (the house was in Mitsuki's name) it was worked out that they would temporarily stay with the Midoriya family.
They'd been staying there for about a week now, and the living room was full of children. Endeavor was out of town for the weekend so the Todoroki family in full had come over, and managed to bring Hitoshi too. They decided to have a Mario Kart tournament.
The four older kids (Tenko, Touya, Fuyumi and Natsuo) raced three races. Fuyumi chose Isabelle, Tenko chose Shy Guy, Touya picked King Boo and Natsuo picked Ludwig von Koopa. The tournament was set up so that in the final rankings, the top two would move on to the final set.
The same was done for the four youngest (Izuku, Shouto, Hitoshi and Katsuki), with Izuku picking a green Yoshi, Katsuki picking Bowser, Hitoshi picking Baby Mario, and Shouto choosing Princess Peach.
The results of the first set was predictable; Tenko and Natsuo were the top 2. The second set? Not so much.
"WHAT?! How did Peppermint beat me?!" Shouto had gotten second.
"I don't know, Katsuki. I just copied Natsuo-niisan." That just lit Katsuki's fire even further.
"Fine! Beginners luck I guess! But I'll beat you next time! Just you wait!"
"Sure."
It was a tense final set, and they all had to sit apart from one another so there was no sabotage (coughNatsuocoughIzukucough). It was tense even until the final stretch.
