It was a quiet Friday night, Izuku thought jumping from rooftop to rooftop. He wasn't complaining, though - he loved helping people, but sometimes a quiet night was a good break. A mugging here, a break-in there, all in all there were less villains around than usual.

It was so quiet, in fact, that Izuku arrived at the meeting point an hour early. There wasn't anything at all to do, much less handling crimes, so Izuku decided to wait for Eraserhead by wasting time on his phone. Well, his back-up phone. The untraceable one. No way was he going to bring and use his actual phone when hunting villains.

He was halfway through a new round on his puzzle game when he noticed the pro arrive. "Give me a minute." He called. It was a hard level, and he was winning.

The man settled down a meter or so away from him, patiently waiting for the phone to be put away. It didn't take long, and when Izuku looked up he saw Aizawa handing him a takeout pack of Katsudon.

Izuku took the offered food. "How did you know Katsudon was my favourite?" It was said in a teasing way, but even after years and years he still loved the dish.

"Lucky guess." Was what was grunted back, and the hero took out his own serving. He must have bought it at the shop around the corner, Izuku realized, otherwise it wouldn't still be warm. It was a cold night, after all.

They ate in silence, only being broken after they were finished. "So." Izuku started.

"So?" The pro's confusion was clear in his voice, as well as on his face.

"So," He continued, "I heard that a particular someone may be interested in adopting."

Looking over, Izuku saw a mix of emotions on the other's face, settling on a deadpan eyebrow raise. "And where did you hear this?"

"I have my ways. But I also heard that this certain someone doesn't know where to begin."

"And would you have any suggestion for this particular individual?" He sounded - and looked - resigned to the fact that it was Izuku who was giving suggestions on who he should adopt.

Izuku beamed. "Naturally!" Taking out a piece of paper he wrote an address on, he handed it to Aizawa cheerily. "It's in downtown Musutafu; its real seedy too. Probably breaking at least five health and safety regulations, not to mention laws. Anyway, Shinsou Hitoshi. Purple hair and eyes, also looks about as tired as you do, even down to the eye bags. He has a brainwashing quirk, though really its more like limited possession, and has a bad time because of it. You'll like him." And with that, he stood and glitched away.

Aizawa, who had been left on the rooftop, simply sighed, mumbled "Problem Child." and looked at the gifted paper. It indeed was in one of the more sketchy areas, and definitely wasn't a good place for an orphanage.

He purposefully ignored the scribbled "Thanks for the Katsudon!" and set out to continue his patrol. He also ignored the voice in the back of his head that insisted he go check out the orphanage in the morning.

Stepping out of the car, Shouta truly did wonder why he decided to listen to that voice. At least he came in his hero costume. No one else would know.

He walked into the run down building, and- oh wow. It was even worse on the inside. The front desk was the best looking thing he could see, and that wasn't saying much. It looked like it was sourced from Dagoba Beach and they couldn't be bothered to bleach it at the very least.

"Welcome to Sunny Sunshine Orphanage. What do you want?" The receptionist - who really shouldn't be in a customer service job, in Shouta's opinion - drawled.

"I'd like to adopt a kid."

Notes of Future-Past
Volume 1

Entry 10: Yamada Hizashi, right page

Birthday: July 7th
Height: 185cm
Blood type: B
Quirk: Voice
Yamada can increase the volume of his voice, causing damage to structures and eardrums. It could also cancel out sound-based quirks, and he can change the pitch to a degree.

As the changes to the timeline I caused had minimal impact on Yamada until later on, he largely remains the same as before. He's a little more open, however, but that may just be because of the Shirakumo fiasco.

After Hitoshi was adopted by Aizawa, Yamada became his 'honorary uncle', and after Aizawa was found to be related to Nana, he became mine and Tenko's honorary uncle as well.

He loves Eri, almost as much as the rest of us, and constantly buys her things that we pretend to ignore. Like the feline Furby thing. He was placed under strict rules after that one.
