It didn't matter what Izuku said, Hitoshi would not believe he had nothing to do with him being adopted by Eraserhead. How would the pro even know who he was? Where he was? It was definitely suspicious, and as a nearly 11 year old, Hitoshi would get to the bottom of it sooner or later.

His day had started out normal. Wake up half an hour early, make his bed as neat as possible, have a silent and secluded breakfast (which was barely a slice of stale bread that day. Filling.), then sit himself in an empty closet until he's called down for anything. Which was usually lunch, but instead he was called down an hour early with: "SHINSOU! THERE'S SOME HOBO WANTING YOU! GET YOUR BAG!"

Because the orphanage was an absolute shithole, it doesn't care who wanted to adopt the kids as long as they left. Most ended up back at the orphanage within a month or two, anyway. Hitoshi, naturally, wasn't expecting much from this one either. That was, of course, until he walked down the steps to the ground floor and saw Eraserhead standing there. Hitoshi very nearly tripped over his own feet when he recognized who it was.

"Right. Here he is, sign here and you can go."

Said pro stared incredulously at the woman, but signed anyway. "Come on kid, lets get you out of here."

The drive to the apartment (at least Hitoshi assumed it would be an apartment. He really hoped it wasn't some unused warehouse by the docks.) was silent - though, Hitoshi did try and interrogate his freckled friend. It had to have something to do with him. And he had been pretty cryptic lately...

Near jolting at the car being parked at the foot of a decent-looking apartment building (closer to the Midoriya house than the orphanage was), Hitoshi couldn't help but notice that Eraserhead's clothing was covered in cat fur. He quickly shook himself out of his stupor and walked up the stairs after his new adopted father ("The elevator's broken."). There was a pause when the pro went to open the door, seemingly remembering something.

"Try not to let the cats out." Was all the warning he got before a stampede of fluffy felines almost bowled him over.

Hitoshi let out an "Oof-" as the fluffiest of the bunch headbutts his stomach, winding him. There were - that Hitoshi could see - five of them. An orange tabby that was missing an eye, a large tortoiseshell with a nicked ear, a pure white kitten with what looked like the start of wings growing on its back, a black cat with a third eye, and an ashy one - the one that winded Hitoshi - that was very warm.

"Alright hellions, get back in here." Came a call from down the hall. Eraserhead (Eraserhead!) stood there holding a bag of cat treats. He shook the bag, and all five felines ran back to him, meowing incessantly. Seeing his chance, Hitoshi walked inside and shut the door. The apartment was sparsely decorated, though Hitoshi could see a couple of photos of Eraserhead, Present Mic, Midnight and Ingenium.

Hitoshi reached the living room, and paused. There, lounging on the couch staring at him, was the single largest cat he'd ever seen. He stood there, and stared back. This lasted for almost a minute, before the cat decided it didn't have a negative opinion of him and went back to sleep.

"Alright kid," Hitoshi jolted and whipped around to see Eraserhead standing there. "I have a spare room that's now yours next to the bathroom. Also, my name is Aizawa Shouta. I'm both a hero and a UA teacher, so I'll be out most nights and during the day." He reached into his pocket. "Here's a key to the apartment."

"Thanks." Hitoshi mumbled, and by the time he looked back up Eras- Aizawa was gone.

It wasn't hard to find his way to his new room (it wasn't the largest apartment, after all), and what he found was a simple room with everything that a bedroom needed, but was still one of the nicest rooms he'd ever stayed in. Hitoshi placed his meager backpack on the bed and had started to unzip it when a knock at the door interrupted him.

"Here's both my personal number, and my emergency number. Please only use the emergency one for actual emergencies, unlike a certain blond used to." He gingerly took the offered paper, and put it in his pocket to add to his phone later. "I'll leave you to get settled in, and we'll go shopping tomorrow for anything and everything. If you need me I'll be grading tests in the kitchen."

Well, Hitoshi thought, that's that.

Notes of Future-Past

Volume 1

Entry 11: Kayama Nemuri, left page

Birthday: March 9th
Height: 175cm
Blood type: A
Quirk: Somnambulist
Kayama can put nearby people to sleep by exuding a sleep-inducing aroma from her body. Her Quirk works better on males.

Kayama was a very playful and flirtatious person, with a very serious and temperamental side to her. She got angry when interrupted or when insulted, and when it came to insults, she was especially sensitive about her age.

She had no shame for dressing or acting sexually in front of students of any age.

Despite her flirtatious personality, Kayama was intelligent, perceptive, and articulate, though her personality also had her at odds with heroes such as Mt. Lady, whom she had an intense rivalry with.

Kayama helped us choose our hero names, as well as assisted in extracurricular lessons in close combat.

In the War, Kayama quickly changed her costume to be both more protective, and off brand for her as a hero. She threw herself into work with the ISN. She apparently had extensive work as an Underground hero, and applied those skills well to help the War effort.

In the ISN, Kayama was made head of the Surveillance branch, and assisted Hitoshi to run t he Network as a whole after Aizawa died.

Kayama died on-mission to help plan the evacuation of Morioka, and the information she gathered was instrumental in organizing the timings and which tunnels to use.
