1 what inspired the idea of your story?

I wanted to write something short and sweet. I wasn't really sure where I was going with it and just kept writing freely but was later inspired by themes of friendship rather than romance.

2 what is something you struggled constructing with your story?

I think the writing style was the hardest thing for me to figure out. I wasn't really sure how I wanted to write or how I wanted to go about the storyline but I relaxed myself and decided the best thing to do was just write for me.

3 what did you enjoy writing most of your story?
Probably creating the characters and their relationships.

4 what's the overall response of your story from your readers?

I was very fortunate to have my story be positively received. I felt very supported and encouraged by the people who read it :')

5 is your story a stand alone novel or a piece of a series ?

stand alone

6 what would you like your readers to take away from your story?
Not every story has to end with a perfect romance. More normalization of friendships between boys and girls that don't turn into love stories :')

7 what advice would you provide to fellow writers, when it comes to focusing on their own story?
Don't worry about trying to impress everyone. Don't attempt to mimic a writing style that isn't you just because other people like that writing. Write the way that feels most natural to you.

8 does your main character share any similarities to yourself?
I think that April is a lot shyer than I am but I also think she's a daydreamer and she prefers to keep to herself so I think I can relate to her in those aspects.

9 what is something about your story you believe would draw in new readers?

People on this website generally seem to like sweet and concise stories that are easy to read and Lickety Split fits into that category so that's what mainly draws people to the story, in my opinion.

10 do you have any future projects?

I have many! I have no idea where to start or when I'm publishing anything but I have plenty of ideas and stories that I'm in the process of writing and developing :')
