Lady Erinne. That's who I was now. Not Sheobulf, not the Warrior of Everfen. I was defeated. Broken. Cut off from my home, from my clan, bent under Wren's thumb. I felt as if I could barely hold on. It was hard to move forward each day, but someone had to raise my surviving child. Someone had to teach her that her father was the greatest orc to ever walk the earth. Someone had to teach her that, even after all that had happened, hate was not the answer.
Twice in a lifetime I'd lost my family in one fell swoop. I couldn't let that happen to my daughter. I had to make sure she lived, survived, and wasn't left unprotected. Without me, what would become of her? A nightmare I dared not entertain. I wouldn't stay alive anymore because of my father's words haunting me, it was for her.
Now I understood how my father had fought for everything to keep me alive. Now I would do the same. For her. My summer sun.The only ray of light shining in my life. I would protect her in this war of hate, and I would do my best to live, so that she would always have shelter and safety within my arms.
