MADISON
IT had been a week since Andrew moved into his new apartment. I never saw Kaiden. I was starting to think Andrew had made him up, but I couldn't figure out why he would do something like that. It all seemed very weird. Of course, I was only helping Andrew move into his room and I would leave around five or six to head back to my dorm. The RA had emailed me back immediately and Emma was moved out. Fortunately, she said I wouldn't be getting a new roommate because there was an open dorm Emma was moved to.
It was nice having my own place, but I hated it at the same time. I loved that my room was now organized, but I got lonely fast. Kassie came over a lot though to keep my company.
"I can't believe you haven't met Kaiden yet. If I were you, I would wait in his room until he got back." Kassie shoves some chips in her mouth. She's stretched out on Emma's old bed.
"I'm not a stalker. Geez." I try to refocus on my English essay, but nothing's coming to me. Kassie isn't helping eating the chips as loudly as she possibly can.
"I didn't say you were a stalker, I suggested you should introduce yourself." She shrugs and wipes some chip crumbs off her chest.
"I'm sure I'll meet him eventually." I decide to close my laptop and work on my essay another time. It's not due for another week, I just like being ahead so I don't have to worry.
It's only seven and I check my phone to see that Andrew's texted and asked if I want to go to the gym with him. I text him back, letting him know I'll meet him there in fifteen minutes.
"Hey, I'm gonna go to the gym. You wanna come?" I ask Kassie even though I already know her answer.
"No thanks. I'd rather stuff my face with barbecue chips and watch some romantic comedy on Netflix." She stands up, letting some crumbs fall onto the floor. I make a mental note to vacuum those up later.
I smile and dig through my drawers until I find a nice pair of leggings and a workout shirt. "Andrew's going."
"Not even a guy will convince me to give up my greasy junk food." She hugs the almost empty bag of chips. It's not like she needs to workout anyway. She could junk food all day and not gain a pound because of her fast metabolism.
"Well, have fun. Let me know what movie you decide to watch."
"I will!" She says and closes my door behind her. I lock it before I change into my workout clothes. I put my hair up into a ponytail, grab a bottle of water from my mini-fridge, and slip my shoes on. It's cold outside so I make sure to grab a sweatshirt to throw on top of my clothes.
By the time I finally get to the gym, I see Andrew taking pictures of himself in one of the mirrors. He's flexing his arms when I sneak up behind him.
"Why don't you take a booty pic?" I whisper into his ear.
He jumps and drops his phone. A guy lifting weights rolls his eyes at us. "Jesus, you scared me." He bends down to get his phone and checks to make sure the screen is not cracked.
"Sorry. The traffic was terrible." I walk over to the treadmills and he follows me. I always start my workout warming up with a one-mile run.
We both workout for about an hour. I'm sweaty and starving by the time I'm finished.
"You want to grab some takeout and hangout for a bit? I need some help with my math homework."
"We just worked out and you want to go eat takeout?" I raise an eyebrow at him. I can't lie, the thought of some spicy chicken chow mein makes my mouth water.
