MADISON
"SHUT the door and sit down."
I'm frozen to the floor. There's a man in our apartment. There's a man in our apartment and he's sitting on our couch with a gun pointed directly at me. He could kill me with a simple move of his finger.
When I don't move, he repeats his previous statement. "Or I'll shoot." He warns.
I nod and shut the door behind me.
"Lock it."
I do as he says.
"Sit down." He uses the gun to point to the recliner that sits across from the couch. I don't bother taking my shoes off or putting my keys down.
When I take the seat across from him, he slowly puts the gun down. "Don't think I won't pick it up again if you try something slick."
"What do you want?" I find the nerve to ask. My mouth is completely dry. I could probably guzzle a glass of water right now if I had the chance. I'd also call Kaiden and ask him to stop being a dick for one second and come help me.
The man chuckles and shakes his head. "Well, it's not you. That's for certain. I'm looking for Kaiden."
His demeanor is light and joking, but I know he's anything but.
"Kaiden's not here. I don't know when he'll be home." I know he will think I'm lying, but unfortunately I'm not. Both times I tried calling him it went straight to voicemail. If he's mad at me and with another girl, I don't expect him to be coming home anytime soon.
Of course, the man smiles. "I know that trick all too well. I'm not going to let you go. There's a kitchen with food, a bathroom with a shower, and a flat screen T.V. right here." He gestures to the T.V. on the wall. "There's no reason I can't wait him out."
I feel to my stomach imagining spending a whole night with this man. I don't want him eating our food and definitely not showering in our shower.
"To speed things up, why don't you call him?"
"He won't answer his phone. He's too busy with fucking some girl from the club." I'm genuinely pissed off, but I also want this man to believe I'm mad at Kaiden too. He might let me go, then I could warn Kaiden.
The man raises an eyebrow at me, shocked. "Fucking some girl from the club?"
I nod.
"Hm, and here I thought Kaiden Delacroix had to be in love with you. I mean, he killed my brother for simply suggesting you'd be a slut for another man in bed. Funny how things work, isn't it?"
My blood turns to ice in my veins. Kaiden killed this man's brother. He's not going to let me go. And he's going to kill Kaiden.
He stands up from the couch and walks over towards me. He holds out his hand and says, "Phone. Now."
I reluctantly reach into my purse and hand it to him. I have pepper spray in my purse, but I'm too afraid to try anything.
I watch as he turns my phone off and tosses it down on the couch. "Here's what we're going to do, beautiful," He walks into the kitchen and grabs one of the chairs we keep around the table. "I'm going to tie you up to this chair, so when Kaiden gets home, you can watch me blow his brains out."
