MADISON
I ended up stopping by Kassie's dorm. I told her all about my morning with Andrew and Kaiden.
"It's totally fine if you hook up with Andrew. I wouldn't blame you. Hell, I'd probably congratulate you. I'd be a little jealous, but I'd still congratulate you." She's sitting on the edge of her bed, painting her toenails a bright pink.
"Ugh." I throw myself back on the bed. "I don't want to hook up with him. He's like my brother. Do you know how weird it is to wake up cuddling with your brother?"
"Okay, first of all, Andrew is not your brother. He's your best friend. And people fuck their best friends all the time. Haven't you ever read a Wattpad book?" She purses her lips.
I sit back up. "What's Wattpad?"
"A place where you can read books. Anyway, if he's not making a big deal out of it, then neither should you." She shrugs and switches feet.
"What if Kaiden's right though? What if Andrew is developing feelings for me? I don't feel the same way and then our friendship will be ruined."
I don't know what I would do without Andrew. Life is full of changes, but Andrew has always been a constant. Dating, or hooking up, would only make things complicated and potentially ruin our friendship. However, it did feel amazing cuddling with him.
"You're thinking too much. Have you heard about the snowstorm we're supposed to get tonight?"
I'm grateful for the subject change, but it still reminds of Andrew and how he offered to come pick me up if I didn't want to drive in the snow. He was just being a good best friend, right?
"Yeah. I have to work unfortunately." I pick at some fuzz that's on her blanket.
"We're supposed to get seven to eight inches tonight. And there's going to be black ice. Be careful."
"That's great." I mumble under my breath and check the time on my phone. If I want to actually do some anatomy homework before work, then I should probably get going.
"Well, I have to go get some homework done, but I'll talk to you later." I stand up and grab my bag.
"Okay, cool. See you later!"
I do anatomy homework for an hour, then like yesterday, I pack a bag in case I have to stay with Andrew again. I even pack my computer in case I get stuck there for the whole day tomorrow. It's not supposed to stop snowing until Monday and my car isn't the best to drive in the snow.
When I get to work, I notice there's some snowflakes starting to come down. Allie pulls in beside me and gets out her car.
"Looks like it's just starting." She looks up at the sky and ties her hair into a bun.
"Yeah, looks like it." I nod before we walk inside.
---
An hour before closing, Andrew sent me a text message along with a picture of the parking lot of his apartment complex. My guess is he took the picture from his bedroom window.
Andrew: It's pretty bad and some idiot was out here doing donuts. Want me to come get you or are you good driving?
In the picture I could see the obvious tire tracks where someone had been doing donuts. The roads looked pretty covered and because I didn't want to risk anything, I texted him back and told him I would like it if he came and got me.
There wasn't a lot of customers tonight, probably because of the impending weather, so we closed early. When I get out into the parking lot, it looks like a full-on blizzard. Andrew's parked next to my car, so I grab my bag, tell Allie to be careful, and climb inside Andrew's warm car.
