"...I told you to stop this shit, you're taking this too far!" I hear Jaque's enraged voice coming from the front door outside making me walk towards it. What were they doing out here?
"You know I have to. This is your fault to begin with." Four retorts.
"I'll find another way to fix this shit, but you stay away from my sister until I do." What?
"You know it doesn't work like that." Four stops as he sees me through the door frame. "Jo." He says before glancing to my brother who only looks to me.
"Tell them I'll be right back." He says, nodding towards Four silently telling him to follow as he walks off to the car.
"What's going on?" I ask, sticking my head out of the door to see him scratch the back of his neck. "Why is Jaque telling you to stay away from me?"
Four waves me off. "He's probably upset that your attention isn't on him as much now. It's nothing." He says. "I'll bring him back later. He's going to buy a new charger."
"I thought he left it in your car?" I say, remembering Jaque's excuse to leave the table.
"Turns out he lost it," Four says, though I could sense he was lying. "Won't be long." He says and with that, he's off. To say things were getting weird between my brother and Four was an understatement.
Jaque had told me before to stay away from him, but Four just kind of keeps coming around. If they were friends, I don't think he'd be a very good one if he's hanging around his friends sister.
But maybe it could be that Jaque is just annoyed and doesn't want me hanging around any of his friends. But Four was my friend and I didn't have to stay away. Not that I had much choice anyway, the guy basically stalks me.
They were acting rather weird though, fighting and being secretive about something I had no idea about. Well actually, I do know I'm part of that problem because I just heard my brother mention me.
Maybe I was overthinking and Jaque only wants him to stay away from me because of how jealous older brother's get when their sister gets a boyfriend. But Four isn't my boyfriend, he's my friend.
I used to have Jaque's phone location on my phone so I'd know exactly where he was. But since he found out about it, he would shut his phone off every time he went out and that's why I couldn't reach him.
I found myself upset over Four not staying until the end of dinner, I was hoping we could go to the coffee shop that quickly became a favored spot for us or maybe even go to the movies.
I haven't been to the movies in a while.
I just wanted to hang out with him, and it frustrated me that he had gone off with my brother. I was also frustrated at the fact that my father basically put him on the spot and probably embarrassed him that he felt the need to answer.
"I'm sure my intentions would be to treat her like she deserves, make her laugh and make her happy."
Those words replayed themselves over and over again in my brain with no intentions to stop, and honestly I kind of liked hearing them.
I swear I felt my heart leap at the way he said it, all the while maintaining his eyes to me the whole time. As cheesy as that sounded, I found myself blushing at that but my phone ringing took me out of that trance.

"I told you so," Madi comments, laying on her back whilst she looked at her phone screen. "You're in too deep now and there's nowhere for you to go than to go south, if you know what I mean."
"Everyone knows what you mean." I say with a roll of my eyes. All she seemed to think about was sex. Not that I was judging her, I did buy red lingerie for that special night someday.
"Do you think he's big?" She says, completely ignoring me.
"I don't look, that's another form of harassment."
"Well then he's harassed you plenty cause I've caught him staring at you many times." At this, my face grows hot. "So back to my question; do you think he's big?"
I look away. I don't have any experience with guys' groins to answer that question truthfully—although from those various and unwanted messages I receive from random Facebook men, most of the hot ones tend to have a small dick.
"Madi, I don't know. Would it matter?" I groan.
"Yes, of course!" She sits up, now fully paying attention to me. "They try to tell you that size doesn't matter but rather what they do with it or some shit like that, but really? It matters. Trust me."
As I'm about to answer, my phone goes off with a text.
"It's Four." I say making Madi sit at my side in no less than a second.
Can I see you tonight?
"Oh God, say yes and wear the lingerie set you bought!" She basically squeals in my ear making me wave her off. I was definitely not doing that.
Sure, what are we doing?
"You are such a dry texter. Not even a single emoji." Madi says, her face showing disappointment.
"What emojis am I supposed to use?"
"Try the eggplant with the water drops and a winky face!" She says making me ignore her and wait for Four's text, which came a minute later.
Zach is having a small hang out at Esmer's.
After this, another text came in.
Don't worry, it's not a date.
I smile at this and begin to type back.
See you there.
