𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐝𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐦𝐞

It had been approximately an hour since my parents surprise announcement. I was still pretty much in shock after that and haven't really been able to recover. It has got to be a joke, there's no way they'll go through with it. It had also been an hour since Four left with Zach, he promised he wouldn't be long but that was clearly a lie. I removed my heels and replaced them with my sandals before walking towards the front door to where I saw a car pull in.

When Four steps up, I notice he had a cut on his bottom lip making my eyebrows furrow.

"What happened to you?" I ask but all he does is grab the back of my neck and press my lips against his harshly. When he pulls away my arms only pull him back in and he seems to oblige to my actions.

After we both pull away for air, I nervously bite the inside of my cheek as I push him inside the house with me and lead him upstairs into my room where he locks the door behind him.

I push Four onto the bed and have him sit there before I undo the string on my dress and undo the buttons but his hands stop my actions. "We don't have to." He says and I respond to him by pressing my lips to his.

I was nervous, but while he was gone, all hell kind of broke loose with that announcement from hell. Not to mention, I was wine tipsy but at least it gave me confidence. I might or might not have had this night planned. I was wearing the red lingerie set I was storing, just in case.

However, as a wave of reality hit me, I acknowledged what I was doing and suddenly became extremely shy as Four's eyes scanned my body. "I want to—" I stop when he chuckles. His hands go to my waist and he brings me closer.

As I looked between him and my bed, my heart pounded in my chest and my stomach did flips. "You're freaking out," he points out, rubbing my arms for comfort before he sits me down beside him. "I'm not going to hurt you."

Something about his words made me feel at ease but also even more terrified. I knew it would hurt, the first times always does. "I want you to, I really do." I say, catching his gaze. "But I want you to enjoy it as well and I'm nervous because I've never done this before."

"I don't mind," he says, reassuring me. I was the one who initiated this and now look at me, freaking out. Madi would be so disappointed. "Jo, we don't have to, we can do this some other time when you're ready." Four says but my pride makes me feel ten times worse.

I shake my head. "Let's get this over with," I say and Four suppresses a laugh but I guess he senses that I've had a few glasses too many and shakes his head.

"Let's just get you cleaned up." He says and kisses the top of my head. He leads me into the bathroom where I had my makeup wipes and helps me remove my makeup.

Once I'm in bed, he sits beside me and caresses my hair as I play with his dangling necklace. "Can you stay the night?" I ask just above a whisper.

Four simply smiles and nods, removing his shoes before they're being followed by his shirt. He gets into bed under the blanket beside me and places his arm underneath my head for me to use as a pillow.

His right hand pulls me in closer by my waist. I was concentrated on his paper airplane pendant between my fingers, he notices this and puts his hand over mine to stop my actions. "Are you okay?" He asks me and I have to bite down on my tongue to make the lump in my throat go away.

I definitely did not need him to ever see me cry. Once I feel like I can talk without choking, I let out a sigh. "My parents just announced that they're pregnant." I say. God, even saying those words don't seem real.

Four's eyebrows furrow. "Congratulations?" He sounds unsure.

"No!" I look at the ceiling while his eyes remain on me. "As much as I love my family, my parents are horrible parents. I already have enough with Jaque. I'm only seventeen, I shouldn't have to be going through so much just because my parents have no boundaries between work and family." I ramble on.

"Not that I want to make you anymore upset than you already are or anything but, why are you getting so worked up over this?" I glare at Four. "I mean, shouldn't this be a good thing?"

"My mother is forty-five. She's putting her health at risk just to market her new wine for pregnant women. This is fucking bullshit and she's delusional if she thinks she's going to go through with this. Besides, I'm probably going to be stuck with the burden of having to care for the baby because my parents just can't stop working." I have always supported my parents, even if they were horrible.

But I will not allow this to happen.

"Why don't we just relax?" Four suggests. "I think you just need some sleep for now." I was running on wine and anger, maybe it is best that I sleep this off.

And I do just that.

I end up waking up at around two fifteen in the morning to noises coming from beside me and when I open my eyes I see a flash. "What are you doing?" I ask, watching Four lay back down and turn off his phone.

"I was in the bathroom and didn't want to turn on the lights to bother you." He halfly whispers as I flip on my side to face him. From my open curtains, I can see half of him due to the moonlight allowing me to see his green eyes.

He gives me a soft smile and puts a loose strand of hair behind my ear. "I'm sorry about earlier," I say, remembering my raunchy state and how I was coming on to him and how I burdened him with my fucked up family problems. "I was drunk, thank you for not taking advantage of me." I joke and he furrows his eyebrows.

"I would never," he replies making me smile. "I do have to go though." Four says and now this time I furrow my eyebrows.

"Why?" I whine.

"I've got some things I need to help Thomas out with at his house and he's been waiting on me since two hours ago, but I didn't want to just leave and look like I was sneaking out." He explains and sits up whilst he puts on his boots followed by his shirt.

"Oh," I say and sit up next to him. "Is that why you left the party earlier?" I ask and he looks away from me whilst standing up.

"Yes." He keeps his answer short. To say that Four isn't involved in shady business would be naive of me. Of course he was, and I knew probably talking about smuggling and doing drug runs wasn't an ideal subject of conversation for someone who doesn't want to get caught.

I hated that he was involved in that stuff, I had enough with my brother being an addict that even me calling him that is very hypocritical of me.

Four and I make our way down the stairs before reaching the front door to my house. "Be safe?" I say in more of a question making Four let out a suppressed laugh.

"Always," he says and begins to walk away before he stops and turns back right as I was about to close the door. "My phone." He says to me and I roll my eyes with a playful smile before I walk back upstairs to my room.

When I reach my bed, the phone is lit up with a missed call from Zach and Thomas and a text from them both.

As I read Zach's text on his screen, I realize Four is going to be at his club tonight making me curious as to why he didn't say that instead. I act like I didn't see a thing as I reach the front door to see Four leaned against the doorframe.

"Thanks." He says and pockets it, not glancing at his phone as he does so.

"You're going to Thomas's house, right?" I ask. I remember clearly what he said but the texts seem to say otherwise.

Four nods. "I won't be there long though." He adds making me nod. He had just lied to me. "I'll see you later, okay?" Four looks at me one last time before walking away towards his car and drives off.

I stand there for a while, wondering why he felt the need to lie to me before I finally shut the door and walk back to my bedroom to continue my sleep.
