Chp. 5: High Fashion
"I know I gotta keep my shawty on go, go, go/ Drop that ass to the floor, floor (yeah)/ Ahh, woah/ You ain't gotta deal with none of these niggas no more..."
-Roddy RicchI randomly leapt from my slumber. It was the best sleep I'd had in a while. Crying myself into a nap actually worked in my favor this time. I looked at the digital clock on my nightstand. It was only going on noon. Ugh! Today was dragging. Why?
"Meme!" I yelled, then waited.
Silence.
Turning from my back onto my side, "Meme!" I called again.
The door to my bedroom slowly pushed open.
"You okay, Diva?"
"Yes ma'am. I'm hungry." I blushed.
Meme grinned, "There's granny's baby. What do you have a taste for? I'll fix whatever you want."
"Can you make me a bacon grilled cheese sandwich? Two of them?" I pleaded in a childish demeanor.
"Yes, I sure can."
And with that statement, Meme left the doorway. I turned from my side, now moving onto my stomach. I placed my hand between the bed and my belly. I had been cramping off and on for the past few days. Due to my Depo shots, I no longer had a period so the cramps kind of had me annoyed. Frustrated, I returned to my original position and stared up at the ceiling.
"God, why is my stomach hurting like this? Please make it stop!" I prayed, knowing that that's not how God operates. "Grrrr!"
The cramps almost put me in the mind of losing Jace, only they weren't as intense. Eventually, I picked up my iPhone to be a distraction and security blanket. I went to IG and searched Gregory's tag; @GregthaGreatG. When his profile loaded, I proceeded my stalk. He had a lot of shirtless bathroom mirror selfies and a lot of pictures of plated dishes from various restaurant. He's a foodie like me. Perfect. While my mouth watered, I kept scrolling until stopping on a picture of Gregory and a girl.
@GregthaGreatG
The only picture of us that I'm never gonna delete. We were being extra silly this day. Don't nobody have that much fun in PE but we had a blast getting that zero for not dressing out. God was preparing us. No one could've made us believe that your sister would get killed less than a hour later. Love you, Jade! Miss you, Jada!
