mondays. the day of the week that i dreaded most as weekends were over. as much as i didn't want to get out of bed, the blinding sun was hitting me right in the eye which made me sit up. i picked up my phone and harshly placed it on my table, plugging the charger in. 5%. damn, if i didn't forget to charge it last night, my phone would've already been 100%.

just then, a notification popped up on my screen. i was about to brush it off and get ready for school, but the icon on the app was something i've never seen before. i furrowed my eyebrows as i didn't remember downloading anything the day before, especially with this icon.

i thought hard, trying to recall what i did on my phone yesterday. oh! i remember clicking on a link yesterday which brought me to a website. but since when could notifications be sent without downloading the app? i went through my homescreen and noticed an app with a broken polygon heart as the cover. "oh." i deadpanned. i clicked on the app and noticed an inbox.

i clicked into it and noticed a new message, receiving another one in the process.

welcome to how to be a heartbreaker, cha haeyoung! everyday you log on, there'll be rules on how to break someone's heart. if you miss a day, the rules will be restarted. have fun!

"...what the hell?" i apprehensively muttered.

ME:
i don't remember downloading this app though? i clicked on a link and it brought to a page "HOW TO BE A HEARTBREAKER" and i filled in my details. yes, it's a dumb idea to just give my details and particulars to a random sketchy website but i did it anyway. making bad decisions is what i'm good at 😎

ME:
but seriously though whAt wAs i tHinkiNg- brb gtg have a mental breakdown bc ya gurl is abt to get hacked ^3^

i replied, hoping it wouldn't just be a bot. a person behind it, maybe?

HEARTBREAKER.BOT_:
don't worry! after you filled in your details, we managed to load the application into your phone. you won't get hacked as we have a really secure website. :)

ME:
okay?? but how do i know you're not just a scammer in disguise ready to track down my location and kidnap me to a foreign country? and what's this even for lmaoo i don't even go around breaking people's hearts

we don't do that! well, you can try to break hearts if you want to, since that's the point of this app.

ME:
wait, i tried deleting this app but it won't let me? what did i do to deserve this

HEARTBREAKER.BOT_:
you clicked on our website and filled in details about yourself. assuming you wanted to break peoples' heart, we loaded the app onto your phone. the app basically can't be deleted to say the least. unless something happens.

ME:
a random person actually sent me a link and aSSUME? DIDNT YOUR PARENTS TEACH YOU NOT TO ASSUME???? and what's that "something"?

don't expect hearing from me again anytime soon, i won't log on because i don't go around breaking people's hearts :)
