haeyoung has been living normally without the app, she almost forgot it was even a thing that existed. she felt as if some weight has been lifted off her shoulders since she didn't need to go into the app daily. yet, she hasn't mentioned it to mark and haechan that it was gone. well, not until mark asked.

haeyoung was over at mark's place the next day and the two were planning to take minguk out because she claimed that she never gets to spend enough time with haeyoung.

"where do you want to go?" haeyoung crouched down to reach minguk's eye level.

"let's just go to the park and walk around!"

"okay, let's go then,"

"mum, dad, haeyoung and i will be leaving now!" mark told his parents while putting on his shoes. we got an 'okay' signal that they understood and headed out.

"how are your studies?" haeyoung asked minguk as they stopped at a traffic light.

"it's good! i passed all my subjects. i never told anyone this... but i got a crush!" she whisper-shouted the last part, not wanting anyone else to hear. but of course, mark overheard her.

"you have a crush and you didn't tell me?" his overprotective side came out.

"yeah... it's just a small crush though. he's really cute," minguk smiled dreamily while thinking of him.

haeyoung and mark looked at each other, trying not to laugh.

"do you guys have crushes?" minguk broke out of her reverie asked them.

"well, i don't have one but haeyoung here already has a boyfriend," mark told her casually.

"who is it? do i know him? how does he look like? is he handsome? what's his name?" minguk bombarded haeyoung, catching her off guard.

"well- you've never seen him, i don't think. his name is jaemin. and yes, he is handsome," a smile crept up on haeyoung's face.

"she's in love," mark joked, earning a light punch from haeyoung, flustered.

"wha- oh my gosh can we get ice cream?" minguk's face lit up and a smile spread across her face as she noticed the ice cream truck not far from where they were standing.

"i can buy it. what flavour do you guys want?" mark asked both haeyoung and minguk.

"i want cookies and cream!" minguk said in elation.

"you truly are my sister," mark fistbumped her.

"haeyoung, what do you want?"

"i'll pass, i ate a lot for lunch and i'm still full," haeyoung politely declined the offer.

the three stood in line with the queue and waited patiently.

"so, how's the heartbreaker app going?" mark started.

"oh right, i forgot to tell you this but it's gone."

"gone? what do you mean?" his face contorted into pure bemusement.

"another error occurred and the app crashed on me. when i went to check my homescreen, it was just gone. i couldn't find the app for the life of me," haeyoung sighed exasperatedly.

"now that is definitely sketchy,"

"it's alright, i don't need it anyway."

and just in time, it was their turn to order the ice cream. "hello, can i get two cookies and cream please? thank you."

"coming right up! that is $6.38." mark passed him $7 cash and received his change.

"thank you, have a nice day."

the two received their ice cream and the three started heading to wherever their legs led them to.

"do you want some?" minguk offered, scooping a spoon full of ice cream for haeyoung. she raised her little hands up and haeyoung accepted it gratefully.

"i feel like minguk would choose you over me any day," mark hunched his shoulders and pretended to wipe a tear.

"that's not true! i love you as much as i love haeyoung," minguk claimed.

"but i'm your brother!" mark cried.

"hehe," minguk giggled and hugged mark tightly while haeyoung was at the side, witnessing their sibling goals.

"i wish i had a sibling," she muttered to herself quietly.

as they were making their way back, haeyoung heard her name being called from a distance. she turned around and saw hyora waving at the both of them.

hyora went over and greeted them, "hi! what a coincidence that i would see you guys here. who is that...?" hyora sneered, smile fading and her eyes widening as she saw minguk in between the two, holding mark and haeyoung's free hands.

"ah, before you misunderstand, this is minguk, mark's baby sister," haeyoung clarified, noticing hyora's expression.

"o-oh, i was shocked for a moment, sorry!" she gave a half-assed apology and laughed.

haeyoung and mark felt awkward for some reason, so they quickly made up an excuse and left the area, heading home quickly.

"who is she?" minguk spoke suddenly after staying quiet for some time.

"she's someone from our school. jaemin is close to her," haeyoung explained.

"oh. i didn't like the way she looked at me," minguk pouted.

"i'll make sure she won't look at you that way anymore." mark brought her into his arms and carried her all the way home.

they received a few strange looks from passerby's, but who were they to judge?

the sky was turning from a light shade of blue to a darker shade, pink and orange peeking out slightly. before they even reached mark's house, small stars appeared and littered the night sky, along with the enthralling moon was dangling up in the sky.

"did you have fun today?" mark initiated a conversation, directed to the both of them.

"yes! i had a lot of fun. especially because haeyoung is here," minguk said, delighted.

"my feelings are hurt," mark sulked.

"i had a lot fun too, because the both of you are with me!" haeyoung chuckled, trying to make mark feel included.

"i want to have a friendship like haeyoung and mark's one day," minguk muttered lowly, but not low enough for it to go unnoticed.

"don't worry, i'm sure you'll have a friendship like ours one day." mark told her.

haeyoung and mark led minguk into the house first, since the two still had to bid their goodbyes.

"thank you for today, i had tons of fun." haeyoung hugged him.

"me too. stay safe!" the two parted ways and haeyoung went back home with her heart at ease.
