during those five days, jaemin and haeyoung had been on and off. they would fight over small things and the others could only sit and watch. but of course, after awhile of ignoring each other they would make up.

"what's up with you and jaemin?" haechan asked haeyoung as he took a glance at jaemin, noticing that he was conversing with another female student outside their classroom.

"what?"

"why is he talking to her? i don't think i've ever seen him talking to anyone else other than the seven of us. willingly, that is."

haeyoung looked outside and noticed who haechan was referring to.

"oh. she's that new student councilor. she got added just yesterday if i'm not wrong, and jaemin had to guide her."

"...aren't you jealous or something? i also haven't seen you guys talk much after last friday. did something happen?"

"we went on a date on saturday, but after that i just don't know what happened. i feel like i did something wrong but i just can't put my finger on it." haeyoung sighed in irritation.

"then put your hand on it," jeno butted in with his lame joke. was he even trying to funny? no one knows.

haeyoung shot jeno a glare and went back to slouching and putting her head on the table. haechan shook his head and patted the upset girls back and tried comforting her. keyword: tried.

"you still... love him, right?" haechan was hesitant to ask haeyoung this question, but he couldn't help himself.

"i guess. but it's too early to use the word love, don't you think?"

"what do you mean you guess?" jeno's dramatic ass chimed in again.

"i guess you're right. but don't worry, i'm sure he still likes you." haechan spoke through gritted teeth, shooting jeno a side glare.

"does he really?" she turned her head towards haechan and stared at him intently, getting reminded about those "fake" messages from unknown.

he was taken aback. he looked away and paused patting her back, thinking about what he should say next.

"he told you many times that he likes you, right?"

"well- yeah. i trust jaemin. i should," haeyoung said, mumbling the last parts to herself.

"that's right! stop doubting the relationship, haeyoung. yeah it can get complicated at times but only time will tell what will happen next. trust is key."

"thank you again, haechan." haeyoung smiled for the first time that day.

just at that moment, their moody language teacher entered the class, holding stacks of paper. following behind him was a sweaty mark running into class.

mark shooed haechan away from his seat and sat down, still catching his breath.

"what happened to you? you're so sweaty," haeyoung scrunched her nose in disgust.

"i had to help minguk with her homework and lost track of time. when i saw at the clock i realised that i was about to be late so i ran to school. but hey, i made it in time!" mark smiled proudly.

haeyoung let out a scoff in return and laughed at her dorky seat mate.

"why isn't jaemin here yet? it's already recess," renjun played with his food as the table was oddly quieter without jaemin to crack silly jokes and casually flirt with haeyoung here and there.

"he messaged the group and said that he'll be eating with... hyora? who's that?" mark looked up from his phone with furrowed eyebrows.

"isn't she the new student councilor jaemin had to guide since he was a student councilor too?" renjun asked and haeyoung nodded.

the table fell quiet and everyone ate in silence, occasionally taking small glances at haeyoung.

"i'm not blind you know," haeyoung spoke after awhile, cutting the silence between the 4 of them.

"what?" haechan asked.

"i can tell you guys are worried about us but we're fine, i'm fine. the both of us are fine. we just need some space." she feigned a smile.

the others gave knowing looks to each other and nodded their heads, understanding what haeyoung was trying to say.

the next lesson was math and by the time they entered the classroom, jaemin was already on his seat.

"hey guys! i haven't seen you guys all day, i've been busy." jaemin waved and smiled at the five who just entered the classroom.

"hello," jeno was the only one who greeted back as he was jaemin's seat mate while the others just returned a smile.

the day went on like usual, except for the fact that jaemin and haeyoung didn't talk to each other.

later that day after school, haeyoung remembered to login into the heartbreaker app and finally got rule #6.
