We meet people in life to learn something from them and vice versa. The only thing I learn from the same people my age is to not turn into them. Whether it's a pothead, drug-addict, alcoholic, thot, etc. 95% of people in High school talk about the same things, and if you don't talk about those said things, then you're seen as "boring" or " basic", when in actuality THEY'RE the BASIC ones. I'm not going to change my personality or the way I dress to please anybody, the only approval I need is my own. Altering one's persona is so dumb. I love being an outcast and that's NEVER going to change, fitting in is boring and shows that you're a people pleaser. Don't be that way. A lot of people do things to please everybody but themselves, by experimenting with drugs, alcohol, losing their virginities, and all of the above. Everyone has a moment to think so it's annoying when people say they did something just to try it. SO dumb. Why are you trying drugs when you know it can kill you? You shouldn't be drinking or having sex so early either. Overall this is all about self- worth and knowing how amazing you are without mirroring other people for validation. So basically you'd rather harm yourself to be friends with someone, and do everything else in the book to seem "cool." STOP being basic. It feels so good every time I tell people that: " I'm not a drug-addict, pothead, alcoholic, or a thot. Even saying it out loud to myself makes me realize, that it's GREAT not to transform into someone I'm not, I'll continue to be this amazing and gorgeous goody-two-shoes my whole life, while everybody else stays basic for approval instead of being themselves without an apology. Prevent yourselves from getting sucked in by all the followers, be a leader. Avoid drugs, alcohol, sex(at a young age to prove a point), and anything else forced. Don't let anyone force you to do things you don't want to do, especially your so-called "friends." Being yourself is the best/ most important thing ever. Don't do drugs or drink to be friends with people. Don't lose your virginity just to say you're not a virgin anymore. EMBRACE IT! Just be a leader and not a follower. Don't become everyone else, a loser.
