Ashton's p.o.v
"So what now?" I asked Abby as I heard a thunder of lighting strike for the first time."Stay here. It's not safe out there," Abby replied and rested her head on my chest.
We were still standing in the same spot in her room as before.
"Are you okay with that? Don't you have to go to school tomorrow?" I asked.
"I'm not going. I can't go through those halls filled with nasty comments and judgements," she replied.
"I'm sorry. Do you want me to stay with you tomorrow? We can skip classes. Who cares?" I offered.
"Please stay," she said and I heard her phone go off.
I grabbed it off her bed before she could reach it and read one nasty comment after another.
"Are you reading these?" I asked, concerned.
"Maybe. How can I ignore them?" She replied.
I started reading more.
'Dumb bitch'
'You think you're famous or something'
'Worst actor ever'
'Attention whore'
'Camera freak'
They were so terrible.
"Don't ever read those comments. They aren't true," I told her, about to cry. I felt her pain. I was sorry for her.
"The sad thing is I'm the real me when I'm in front of that camera. I'm not the girl everyone thinks I am at school. Yet, they hate the real me, the youtuber. They love Abby Taylor, the popular girl," she explained.
"What they think doesn't matter. You need to learn to love yourself, not the girl everyone else loves. I love you, the real you," I whispered and rubbed her back.
She was crying in my arms, make up staining my shirt. I know she said this wasn't my fault, but it is. I told Britney and if you tell her anything, you're practically telling the whole school.
"Can we listen to some Green Day? It'll make you feel better," I offered.
She nodded her head against my chest. The rain slashing against the window and the roar of thunder and flashes of lightening set a terrible mood in the room. I cried along with her as the music played throughout the night.
