Nailea's pov I wake up to my alarm going off. I groan and roll over to turn it off. When I check the time I see that it's 4:45 am, so I decide to get up and get ready. Today I have to go pick up my brother from the airport.
I walk into my closet and grab some clothes then make my way to the bathroom to get ready. While I'm waiting for my shower to heat up I brush my teeth and wash my face. *skip to after shower and getting dressed*
Since I was only going to the airport I just decided to put on something cozy.

I brushed out my hair and put it in a messy bun. After washing my face and brushing my teeth I did some light concealer just so I don't go out in public looking like a zombie. After finishing my makeup I walk down to the kitchen and I see Noelani sitting at the island on her laptop.
"Geez sis you look like shit, did you even go to sleep?" I asked her. " Nope I was up all night, I'm cramming for my SATs tomorrow." she replied. "Girl why don't you just guess, that's what I do and I'm doing pretty fine." "If a 1.9 GPA is what you call fine then I honestly don't know how you're going to graduate." she said to me.
"Wow the shade. Why are you even stressing, we're only juniors." I asked. " I'm graduating this year and you know Nailea, some of us actually care about our futures and want to succeed. You're not going to make it in life by guessing and just coasting through."
"I plan on getting through by my looks just so you know" I told her. She rolled her eyes "whatever." she scoffed.
As you may of noticed from our whole conversation Noelani is the smart twin. She has always been that way. Me on the other hand, I've never really liked school. I struggle with it a lot and I know I'll never be smart like her. Noelani spends all her time studying and planning for college. I know she's right when she says I need to get my life together, but I was telling the truth when I said I plan to use my looks. I want to be a model, my plan is after high school to move to LA and hopefully get discovered.
I know what you guys are thinking, it's a crazy plan. I know it probably won't happen, but right now it's my only plan.
I walked over to the fridge and grabbed a water. Then I went and grabbed a granola bar from the pantry and made my way to the door. "I'm going to pick up Josh, I'll be back soon" I yell to my sister. "Drive safe, love you." Noelani yelled back from the kitchen.
I get in my dads car and make my way to the airport. Also I just have to bring it up, no I don't have my own car. I'm 17 and my parents don't want to get me a car because they don't trust me. I don't blame them though, I have to admit I'm not the best daughter. My sister on the other hand of course got her own car because she's the perfect daughter.
*skip car ride*
I find a parking spot and get out and make my way into the airport. I'm waiting for about 10 mins until I see him. Josh. I run up to him and hug him.
"Ughhh I missed you so much." I tell him. " I missed you too bean, how you holding up?" he asked. "I've been better."
Just a little background on the whole situation. Josh is my older brother. Me and Noelani were adopted by his family when we were 6. Our moms were best friends since like middle school so when my mom died and my dad ended up in jail, his family took us in.
Me and Josh have always been close and sometimes I forget we're not blood related. For the past 6 months he's been living in LA with a few of his friends and it's been really hard not having him here. But now he's back for a few weeks.
We get in the car and make our way home.
*sorry this chapter sucks, I'm like hella bad at writing. Hopefully they'll get better tho. Also if you guys have any ideas feel free to comment them.*
