Chapter 19 - Jade and Esmeralda

As we arrived back to the Castillo house I was about to say goodbye to German and go back to Edmond's house, but then we both heard shouting from inside his house.

- What the hell is happening there? - German muttered.

- Let's check it! - I replied.

- You don't have to if you don't want... - he said.

- Why wouldn't I want to? - I smiled.

He looked shocked, but the he smiled and we walked into the house together to see Jade and Ramallo shouting at each other.

- What the hell is going on here?! - German shouted which made both of them jump.

- Jade came here with her same problem again, but when I told her that you're not home she started insulting Angie and...

- My love! - Jade screamed happily then she jumped into German's arms and kissed him.

I think she tried to make me feel bad, but it didn't work, because I was more surprised than hurt.

- What will you say now, you rat tutor?! - she snapped - Aren't you hurt?!!

- Uhm...

I truly didn't know what to say about this, but German reacted for me as well:

- Get off me, Jade! - he groaned as he pushed her off - And stop talking bad to Angie!

- That rat is no good for you!

- We're not together! I have a fianceé and she got a boyfriend!

Jade stopped for a few moment to think...

- What? Who?!

- That's none of your business - I hissed - But I take your thought of me and German being together as a compliment - I added cheekily.

German was looking at me from the corner of his eyes and he looked somehow... A bit sad though.

Just then...

- Jade!! - we heard a woman shouting and it was Esmeralda. She pulled Jade out on a door and closed it - I tried to stop her, but...

- But no one can stop her - me and German said at the same time.

- Yeah, right.

- But what are you doing here? - I asked her suspiciously. She was always up to something from the very beginning.

- I uhm...

- I have a girlfriend - German groaned, getting more and more irritated.

- That's uhm... Good for you... - Esme muttered as she was looking at me.

- Not me - I added.

- So why are you here? - asked now Ramallo.

- I was uhm... Nearby and uhm... I wanted to see if you're okay... And I wanted to say sorry properly...

- Then go ahead - said German sternly.

- I... I'm sorry for what I did to you back then...

- 5 years ago... - I added as this reminded me about my struggles in France.

- Yeah... I was scared to come back and talk to you because I thought you hate me - said Esme.

- I didn't hate you... - German sighed - I was disappointed and sad... Mostly...

- I'm so sorry, German! I regretted working with Jade and Matias very soon and I really... Truly fell in love with you!

- Well... This is too bad... - I hissed.

- You're forgiven, Esmeralda - German replied - We can be friends again, if you want to... But nothing more.

- Okay... Okay, thank you so much! - Esme cheered happily and hugged German who hesitantly, but hugged her back.

After Esmeralda left German turned to me...

- Are you mad at me for forgiving her? - he asked.

- Not really - I replied - This is your life... Our feelings are not the same anymore so...

I don't know why, but it was painful to say.

- Yeah... Right... - he muttered - But I'm not taking her here too much since I don't fully trust her...

- You better not.

After a few minutes of silent and just staring each other...

- Uhm... Would you like to stay for dinner? - he asked.

- Yeah... I'd love to - I nodded, smiling.

And a few hours later we had dinner together and I really enjoyed being with my family without any interruption like Priscilla, Ludmilla (since she was staying over at Naty's) or even Edmond. I'm not saying he's a bother, but I like to be only with my family like in the old times sometimes...
