Rose's Point Of View.

Everyday was the same. Nothing ever changed, and part of me liked it that way. I wasn't the type of girl who enjoyed changes. I guess, nobody likes changes, especially big ones. I liked the fact that the things and people that were in my life were constant.

It was a cold December's morning. I was up at six am. My usually routine consisted of a quick morning jog and a lukewarm shower. I enjoyed taking care of my body. I felt like it was a temple. You had to keep it clean and healthy. It was where you lived, it was your home.

I dried my long, fire red hair and tied it up in a bun. I loved my hair but I felt like it was a distraction when It was down, especially on cold windy days.

''Rose are you up yet?'' My mum's voice came from the kitchen. Of course I was awake, but I think my mum wanted to feel like she was being a mother by waking me.

''I'll be down in a minute'' I called back and applied my make up. I put on mascara and a small light line of eyeliner on my upper eyelid. I used make up to make myself look presentable. I hated the people that thought girls only put on make up to impress boys, but that wasn't the case. I did it for myself, not for some dirty, smoker who only cared about himself.

I was a girl who thought High School was for students to learn and get themselves ready for College. I tried my best to be at the top of the class, but it wasn't a hard thing to do. Nobody seemed to take high school seriously. Not even my best friend Ella. Everyone thought it was about going to parties and sleeping with everything that moved. I, on the other hand was the type of girl who stayed at home and enjoyed watching TV with my parents. Of course I sound like a lame boring person, but I don't think people are boring. Even if all you do is stare at a wall all day, there is something interesting about that. I mean, there is the question, why? Why stare at a wall? Everybody has a story, and nobody is boring.

''Rose, Ella is here'' Mum said.

I straightened up and took a deep breath, Christmas holidays were going to be soon and I couldn't wait to wrap myself up in a blanket and drink hot chocolate whilst watching cheesy romance movies.

I had put on black skinny jeans and a red jumper. I loved red and mum always said that it's because my name was Rose. I smiled at myself in the mirror and grabbed my things off my bed and ran down the stairs.

''Good morning beautiful people'' I grinned at Ella who was sitting at the breakfast bar in the kitchen and mum who was cooking breakfast at the stove.

''How can she be so cheerful at seven in the morning'' Ella groaned.

What can I say, I was a morning person.

''I don't know, both her father and I can never wake up so early'' Mum commented as if I wasn't even in the room.

''Hey'' I protested, mornings were the best part of the day.

''If you went out for a run every morning you would feel so much better'' I sat down next to Ella.

''You need a life'' Ella laughed as mum put two plates of cooked eggs in front of us.

''Eat up, I'm going to go shower, you sure you don't need a ride ?'' Mum asked.

''No, we will walk'' I smiled and Ella groaned even louder. Mum came over to me and kissed me on the forehead.

''Have a good day girls'' She said and walked out of the kitchen.

''You really should consider being less cheery in the mornings'' Ella said with her mouth full.

''I don't understand people like you''

''I don't understand people like you, your mum offered to give us a ride''

''I know I heard, now lets go, we will be late.'' I said when I was done with my breakfast.

''To what? For Gary to unlock the school?'' Ella stared at me as if she was trying to make my head explode. Gary was the janitor, a very nice man by the way.

''You're such a grumpy person'' I said and pulled her off the stool.

''You're lucky I'm your only friend''

I loved Ella, we have been friends ever since we could walk. Our mums have been great friends since the day Ella and I were born. They were put in the same maternity ward and became best friends. Now, after seventeen years, they were still friends, and so were Ella and I.

''How are things with you and Robert?'' I asked out of curiosity. Robert was Ella's boyfriend.

''They are...How they are'' Ella said and kicked a stone that rolled under a car.

''I just love when things go the way they are.''

''Ok, I mean, they are fine but could be better.'' Ella said and looked at me. I knew things weren't fine, she has been having trouble with Robert for a long time now. He wasn't a very trustworthy guy and I always knew it. But Ella wasn't ready to admit that yet.

''I know what you're going to say, so don't. Robbie is just a very closed up guy'' Ella added.

''It's been six months, how closed up is he?''

Ella raised her eyebrow and then shook her head.

''I don't know, I just really like him.''

I decided not to pry anymore. It was her relationship, plus I didn't even know anything about relationships myself. I have never had one. I felt like I was too young to get involved with anyone. Plus it would take up too much time and stress and I felt that I already had enough stress from trying to pass all of my subjects.

Not everyone had the same views at me, the girls and even the guys that were in my school thought I was a weirdo virgin. But let them think what they want, it was my life not theirs.

We arrived just as Gary was putting in the keys to the front door.

''Good morning ladies, on time as usual'' Gary smiled, one of his front teeth was missing. His grey hair was way too long as it fell right into his faded green eyes. He was an old man, but his spirit was great, I had never met anymore so old yet so cheerful.

''Good morning Gary'' Ella and I said and thanked him as he opened the doors for us.

A new and long day was ahead of me and I was prepared for whatever it hit me with.

The time differences should be taken in mind, because for me it is is the first of December, so I posted the first chapter. :) Hope you enjoy
