When Thorn Met Rose

Chapter 13

Thorn's Point Of View.

''Kiss me.'' She suddenly said and I felt my heart almost stop beating. I looked at her small mouth and then into her eyes. They seemed so intense, so needy. I couldn't stop myself anymore. Without even thinking about it I leaned in and our lips touched. 

Hers were warm, they felt so good against my own. I was surprised by my own actions but I kept kissing her. Slowly, I let it all sink in, suddenly I didn't feel cold anymore. I felt something warm fill my body. It began in my chest and spread all through my body. I had never felt something like this. I had kissed many, many girls before, but never like this. Never so passionately, so innocently. I didn't even care if this didn't lead to having her in bed. I didn't even have those kinds of intentions. 

I slowly pulled away, breathless. She too was breathless staring up at me not saying anything. I couldn't control the smile that was spreading across my face. 

''Well.'' I said and half laughed. 

''We should probably get up before my back freezes' Fire Head said and blushed. 

''Oh, sorry, yes.'' I said and pushed myself up from the ground, I then extended my arm and helped her up. 

''So the smart know it all girl wanted the rude drunker boy to kiss her.'' I grinned down at Rose. Her eyebrows shot up and once again her face coloured. I had to keep my eyes away from her lips in case I got an urge to kiss her again.

''Shut up..'' Rose said and playfully punched me on the shoulder. 

''Ouch!'' I grabbed it in pain. 

''Oh stop it.'' 

''Fine, so you like me?'' I asked, feeling extremely stupid once the words had left my mouth. Who even asks that anymore? 

Rose bit her lower lip which made my breathing increase. What was up with me? I barely even knew this girl and somehow I was already attracted to her. I usually never got attracted to girls in such a way. I just enjoyed the sex, no strings attached, I didn't even want to get to know the girls. But with Rose, there was something different. I wanted to know more about her, spend more time with her. This was ridiculous, I couldn't believe what I was thinking. 

''I should go home.'' Rose said.

''And ignore my question.'' 

''Yup'' Rose said with a smug look. 

''Don't leave me though.'' I said not wanting her to go.

''I'm freezing cold, I want a hot shower.'' Rose said.

I rose my eyebrows and smirked. 

''Don't get any ideas, we only kissed once, that doesn't mean there is something-''

I couldn't help myself, I pulled her close to me and kissed her again. Feeling her lips against mine once again. I loved that feelings, I love how sweet she was. 

''Theo'' Rose said pushing me away. 

''What?'' I asked trying to sound innocent.

''You can't just do that.'' 

''Now we kissed twice, could something be going on?'' I asked.

''I'm going home.'' Rose said unable to hide the smile from her face.

''Can I see you later then?'' I asked hopeful.

''Maybe'' Rose said. 

''I'll be looking forwards to it, and to this'' I said and quickly planted a quick kiss on her lips.

''Theodore.'' Rose said crossing her arms. But obviously enjoying it. 

''I'm going home, bye.'' Rose said and turned around and began walking away. I tapped my foot against the snowy ground. I didn't want her to go. I hadn't felt this free and happy for so long. I had missed this feeling. I had missed the feeling of someone being close to me. I smiled to myself as I thought of something. 

I ran after her and grabbed her arms. I swung her around and for the fourth time today I kissed her. But this time, I kissed her even deeper. I slowly brushed my tongue against her lips and they parted letting me invade her mouth. Her tongue swirled around mine. 

''Sorry, I can't help it.'' I said when she pulled away. 

Rose only rolled her eyes and was now the one who kissed me. I smiled as she kissed me. 

''I never said I didn't like it.'' Rose said as she moved away from my lips. 

''I'll see you later Thorn'' Rose winked and walked away. 

I stood in the middle of the road watching that Fire Head walk away. I felt dizzy from all of the blood that was being pumped to my brain. My heart had never hammered so hard against the inside of my chest. I felt happy inside, like the hole that was once there - the whole that was made when my mum died - was slowly being filled with happiness. 

Once Rose was no longer visible I turned and walked home. For the first time in forever I didn't care if my dad was drunk or my brother was nowhere to be found. I just wanted to go home and lie in my bed. I didn't even feel like smoking. What was happening to me?
