When Thorn Met Rose

Chapter 26

Rose's Point Of View.

I opened the door and was instantly greeted by the smile on Theodore's face.

''I didn't think you'd come.'' Theodore said.

''Oh don't be ridiculous''' I grinned and walked over to his bed. 

''How are you?'' I asked.

''I'm fine, it's nothing. How are you, I'm sorry you had to see that.'' He frowned. 

''Hey, don't say that. '' I said and took his hand in mine. 

''I think it's been almost a day since I last kissed you'' He whispered. I felt my stomach fill with butterflies. The way he said that made me happier than I would have expected.

I leaned in and kissed him, he returned the kiss, more roughly.

''If you did that for the rest of the day I'm sure I'll get better.'' He smiled. 

We spent a good two or even three hours just talking. He talked about his mum and how things were when she was alive. How his father had never drank any alcohol. How him and his brother used to get on like two best friends. It had all changed so suddenly. It seemed as if their mother was the one thing that held their family together. Now that she was gone. everything fell apart. 
We then spoke about the play and how we hadn't done any work on that. We had only one more week until we had to turn in it. I needed to have it finished by then or my mum wouldn't be too happy about my final English grade. 
Theodore had to stay in the hospital for the rest of the week so we agreed that I would bring my notebooks here and we could finish the play. I wasn't very keen on going back to school. But I had Ella and I was sure the gossip and the rest of the stuff would have died out by now. I mean, sure it was only been a day since it all began, but I was sure that by tomorrow things wouldn't be as bad. 

At around one I received a phone call from mum.

''I'll be right back.'' I told Theo and left his room. Once outside in the corridor I picked up.

''Hi mum'' I said.

''Hi, I was wondering when you were planning on coming home'' 

''Soon.'' I replied, not really wanting to leave Theo.

''Be home by two, leave the boy to rest.'' Mum said, sounding quite nice actually. 

''Thanks mum, I'll see you later.'' I said.

''You too.'' Mum replied and hug up.

I walked back into the room.

''Is everything alright?'' Theo asked.

''Yeah, mum just needs me home by two.'' I frowned at him. 

Theodore smiled but I could see that he was feeling tired. 

''You can sleep you know.''

''I don't want to'' Theo said just as a yawn escaped his lips.

'I'll come back later, get some rest.'' I said and gave Theo a small kiss.

''Fine.'' 

''Sleep now,'' I said.

''I will I will, don't put pressure on me. Now go before I feel the urge to kiss you again'' Theo laughed and I shook my head.

''I'll see you later.'' I said and with a smile I left the hospital.

Theodore's Point Of View.

I shut my eyes, unsure of why I felt so tired. I just felt like I could sleep for days. I was slowly diffing into sleep when I suddenly heard the door open. 

''Did you forget something?'' I mumbled, thinking that Rose had come back.

''I just heard.'' Alice's voice came from the direction of the door. 

My eyes flew open and I turned my head towards her.

''What are you doing here?'' I asked, feeling quite angry all of a sudden.

''I came to see how you were.'' Alice said with a small smile. She closed the door and walked closer to me.

''You fucking bitch.'' I said.

Alice's eyes widened, she seemed almost insulted.  She seemed as if she didn't know why I was calling her a bitch. I could have called her something worse but at that moment bitch just came out. 

Her facial expression suddenly changed. 

''Oh.'' She said, fear was in her eyes. 

''Why the fuck would you even do something like that?'' I almost shouted. I winced, feeling small amount of pain in my side. I took a deep breath. Alice looked down at her feet.

''Why did you do it?'' I asked.

''I...' Alice didn't even seem like herself. She was always so confident and so cool. What has gotten into her?

''I...Ever since you been with that Rose chick I just...'' Alice looked up at me. 

''What?'' I asked feeling extremely annoyed. She was lucky that I couldn't get out of my bed.

''You're so oblivious Thorn. I have known you forever and you can't even tell that I am in love with you. You suddenly see this little bitch who's a complete weirdo and here you are getting stabbed for her'' Alice shouted. 

I stared at her, stunned.  What was I meant to reply?

''I did that stupid poster to get your attention. I hate her and It's killing me to see you with her!'' Alice had tears in her eyes. She was in love with me? Why?

'I'm sorry, I... I don't'' 

''Exactly, you... just fuck this. I give up, I thought maybe you felt something back for me but it's clear that you don't. I'm going.'' Alice said and turned around.

''Alice.''' I said feeling quite guilty.

''Fuck you Thorn.'' She said and walked out, shutting the door behind her. 

Well, that was eventful. I had no idea she felt this way. I mean, it still wasn't a reasonable excuse to hurt Rose. I shut my eyes. Seemed like my life was never shy of drama. 

I knew that I wasn't going to fall asleep now. I hadn't smoked a fag in over two days and I needed something. I was sure the nurses wouldn't provide me with anything. I sighed, hospitals were not my favorite place to be.
