When Thorn Met Rose

Chapter 18

Rose's Point Of View.

I sat on the closed toilet seat crying. I didn't care about missing class, I didn't care about anything. Was this really what I got for wanting to be with someone? How did the information even get out? How did people even find out? I couldn't stop the tears from falling. I wanted Theo to wrap his arms around me. I wanted to go home.

Even Ella was angry with me, how could she believe that I was going behind her back and doing her boyfriend? Didn't she know me better than this? I had never been visible in this school. Could Theodore do this to me? Was it only a set up to get me to break down? 

My head hurt from all of the crying and thinking. I wanted to go out of this school. I knew that it was the middle of class so the hallways were going to be empty. 

I got to my feet and walked out of the stall. I looked at myself in the mirror. I looked terrible, to think that only an hour or so ago I was happy. I was looking forward to going to school and seeing Theo. Now all I wanted to do  was get out and be alone. 

Thorn's Point Of View.

''Thorn come on.'' Alice stood beside me. I sat on the ground, smoking yet another fag. I had lost count of how many I had already smoked. I stared at the ground where Rose had thrown the ball of paper. 

''Thorn we should go.'' Alice spoke again. I hadn't gone to class, Rose was hurt and angry and I felt like it was all my fault. Who had even gotten that picture of us? 

I reached out and picked up the stupid ball of paper and squeezed it in my hand. I left the fag between my lips and took out my lighter. 

''I don't think you should do that.'' Alice said, she still hadn't moved. What did she even want?

I put the flame to the paper and watched as it slowly burned. Now all I had to do was gather all of the stupid posters of Rose around the school and set fire to them. 

I threw the ball of fire on the ground and let it burn. Suddenly Alice stood on it, extinguishing the flame. 

''Why did you do that?'' I shouted at her. 

''Because if I hadn't you would have probably burnt the school down.'' 

''That would be a good thing.'' I said and blew out a cloud of smoke. 

''Oh for fuck sake, what is wrong with you? So what if your girlfriend got hurt? So what? Who cares about these stupid posters and gossip? The last time I checked you didn't care about what people said. '' Alice yelled at me. 

I stared at her and got to my feet. 

''You know what, fuck you.'' I said quietly and threw my cigarette on the ground and walked off. 

I needed to see Rose, I hoped she didn't blame me for this. If I ever found out who did it, I would gladly rip their head off. I had a small hunch about who could have done it. Maybe I could talk to her during lunch. After that I could go find my girl and beat up anyone who harms her. 

It seemed like luck was on my side as lunch began the moment I walked into school. I walked to the cafeteria, where I knew she would be. People where staring but they knew I could take them out. I glazed back until they turned away. On my way to the cafeteria I over heard the Principal of the school yelling at a bunch of kids. I wondered what he was saying about these posters. Did he even care? 

I got to the cafeteria and scanned the room. I stopped when I noticed the fake blonde head thrown back as she laughed at something. I walked up to her feeling disgust rising in my gut.

''You fucking bitch.'' I shouted at Liz. The cafeteria went silent.

''Excuse me?'' Liz looked up at me in shock. 

''Oh don't act like you don't know what I'm talking about.'' I sneered.

''Oh don't tell me you think I did this.'' Liz laughed holding up the piece of paper of Rose.

''I mean, this is good, but if I were to humiliate someone I would do a better job.'' Liz said.

That, she was right about. Who else could have done it then? 

'Fuck sake.'' I murmured and snatched the page from her and walked out of the cafeteria. 

I had to find Rose. Just as I was turning a corner I bumped into someone. 

''Watch where you're going.'' The female voice said, obviously annoyed. I stepped back to see who I had bumped into. I recognized the girl, Rose was friends with her, wasn't her name Ella? 

''Where is Rose?'' I asked.

''You mean the backstabber?'' Ella said with disgusts.

''What?'' 

''She slept with my boyfriend.'' 

''What are you talking about?'' I asked, confused. 

'Robert, the guy in that picture that Rose is kissing. That was my boyfriend. Because of her, I had to break up with him!'' Ella raised her voice. Was she seriously believing this? Wasn't she suppose to be Rose's friend?

''You've got to be kidding me.'' I almost laughed. 

''What's so funny?'' Ella put her hands on her hips.

''Rose didn't do that. She wouldn't. I don't even know her that well and I know she didn't do it. She is your friend, how could you believe this?'' I said, holding up the piece of paper that I had taken from Liz. Ella looked at me and then at the paper. Something softened behind her eyes and her mouth slightly parted. 

''That's not even Rose.'' Ella whispered. 

''Have you seen her?'' I said feeling frustrated. I wanted to, no I needed to find her. 

''Last time I saw her she was running to the bathrooms... Oh gosh what have I done? She is going to hate me. I am the worst friend in the world. What will I do?'' Ella started blabbering. 

''Come we have to find her.'' I said grabbing Ella by the hand and pulling her outside. 

''Where do we start?'' I asked, unsure of where she could go. 

''I know.'' Ella said and was now the one who was pulling me by the hand. 

She pulled me towards the abandoned science lab and walked behind it. There, on the ground I saw Rose curled up in a ball. 

''Rose.'' I almost shouted and ran up to her. 

''Theo?'' She lifted her head, her eyes were red and puffy. My heart ached, I already cared so much for this girl. Seeing her like this was killing me. 

''Hey don't cry.'' I said and hugged her. Her whole body shook, it was cold and she was sitting on the frozen ground. 

''We have to go inside.'' I whispered. She shook her head.

''You'e freezing come on.'' 

''I don't want to go inside, I want to leave.'' Rose whispered. 

''Where do you want to go?'' I asked.

''I don't care.'' She replied. 

''Ella, help me get her to her feet.'' I said turning to Ella. 

Rose's head shot up and she looked at Ella. She opened her mouth to speak but no words came out.

''It's fine, I'm sorry, I was angry and wasn't thinking straight.'' Ella said coming to Rose's other side. 

Rose only nodded as we helped her to her feet. 

''Can you walk?'' I asked.

''Yes.'' Rose replied.

''Let's go.'' I said.

I held Rose's arm as we walked away from the school. I knew where we could go where nobody would bother us.
