When Thorn Met Rose

Chapter 14

Rose's Point Of View.

I couldn't believe I had just kissed Theodore. At least five times. 

The smile on my face was so big I had to make sure that my parents wouldn't notice and question me. It was already eight, and it was getting bright outside. I had showered and was now sitting in the living room. 

I knew that I wasn't going to be able to stop thinking about how his lips felt against mine all day. I wasn't going to be able to concentrate on anything that I was going to do. I didn't know kissing was so amazing. No wonder everyone done it. I wondered if I should tell Ella. Probably, but not right now. She wouldn't be awake until later in the afternoon. Theo even wanted to see me again. I wanted to see him too. Especially those lips. Oh those lips. Who would have thought that they would be so soft and gentle?

There was a faint taste of cigarettes but somehow that didn't bother me. My stomach had turned to jelly and every inch of me wanted more. I didn't even know why. I didn't know that it was possible to feel such emotions. 

I got onto Netflix and scanned the endless lists of movies. I didn't know what I was in the mood for. I just knew that something was going to catch my eye and I didn't care what. Except scary movies. I hated them, I had never seen one in my life and I was planning on never seeing one. I got scared easily and then I would have sleepless nights, I didn't need that. 

I ended up watching a movie called The Proposal. I had seen it many times before, but I loved it. I especially loved Sandra Bullock. She was incredible. 

''Good morning'' I heard my dad say just as the movie was about to end. 

 ''Morning.'' I replied pausing the movie. 

''Did you already have breakfast?'' He asked from the kitchen. Our living room and kitchen were joined so I turned my head and looked at my dad as he went over to the counter. 

''No.'' I replied. 

''How long have you been up for, you look terrible.'' Dad said. 

''Thanks.'' I replied and couldn't help but smile.

''I was out for a jog'' I replied feeling bad for lying but I couldn't just say that I was out snowball fighting with a guy who then ended up kissing me. I smiled at the memory, I could still feel his lips on mine and I missed them. 

''Was jogging a fun experience?'' 

''Yup.'' I grinned and got up from the sofa. 

''Could I go over to Ella's house today?'' I asked as I walked into the kitchen. Dad was already cooking something on the stove. 

''I guess.'' Dad replied. He was never good with decision making. it was always mum who said the final word. 

''Thanks dad.'' I said and grabbed an apple from the counter and returned to the living room. I sat down in my spot and pressed play on my movie.

''I'll be back later'' I told mum. 

'''Alright, I'll see you then'' Mum replied from the living room as I left the house.

I had decided to leave my hair down again and there was probably only one reason why. Theo said it looked better. I smiled at myself and walked to my car. It seemed too cold to be walking now. 

It didn't take long for me to get to Ella's house, only a few minutes. The journey wasn't even exciting until I parked outside her house. My phone vibrated which made my heart leap out of my chest. 

There was a message from Theodore. 

''Tonight, eight pm, same spot as this morning. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx'

I laughed at the long line of x's or kisses he had added. I texted back instantly, what's the point in waiting to text back when you can do it right away?

''Who would have thought Theodore  loved kisses.''

He too texted back instantly, I smiled. 

''I enjoy them with you'' 

I laughed, I knew that if I replied the conversation would never end. 

I got out of my car and walked up to Ella's doorway. It was one so I was sure she would be awake. I rang the doorbell and waited. 

No answer. I rang it again. After a moment I heard something that sounded like someone was falling down the stairs. I laughed and waited for the door to open. A wild looking Ella opened the door and glared at me.

''What. Do. You. Want.'' She said. She wasn't a morning person. 

''Hello to you too, I need to tell you something.'' I said, I was extremely excited about this. 

''In the middle of the night.'' Ella groaned and stepped aside letting me in.

''It is worth it trust me.'' 

''Unless you and Theodore had some wild sex I don't really care.'' Ella said and began walking up the stairs. I was glad she couldn't see me because I could feel my cheeks heating up. Sex, as if it would go that far. 

''Something along those lines.'' I said as we reached her room. Ella fell on top of her bed. 

''What?'' She said into her pillow. 

''I said, it is something about Theo and I.'' 

Ella instantly jumped up.

''It's Theo now is it, what happened?'' She seemed to be fully awake now. 

I laughed and walked over to a chair and sat down. Ella sat on her bed and stared at me with wild eyes. 

''TELL ME.'' She said and I laughed again. 

''We kissed.'' I said hoping it would sound as casual as I hoped it would. Ella's mouth dropped opened and the loudest most joyful scream left her throat. 

''OH MY GOSH  I KNEW IT, I KNEW THIS WAS GOING TO HAPPEN. TELL ME EVERYTHING.'' Ella seemed to be unable to lower her voice. 

I told her about how he had called me in the middle of the night asking me to come see him.

''Wait, so you ended up picking him up from the hospital?'' 

''Yes.'

''Oh how romantic.'' Ella said and seemed to be lost in some sort of a fantasy.

I went on telling her about the intense snowball fight and then about the kiss. 

''Thorn actually had a snowball fight with you? Are you sure this is the same person?'' Ella asked. 

''I know, but I don't even know him so what do I know.'' 

''Now give me a full detailed description of the kiss. ''

For the next three hours Ella and I talked about Theodore and I. It was weird because I had never had any contact with a guy before, let alone someone who was quite popular and wasn't even my type. Or maybe he was exactly my type. I didn't really know because I had never dated. 

''So I'm going to see him at eight tonight.'' I said once Ella had eaten her breakfast in the kitchen. 

''This is so awesome you have no idea.'' Ella said.

''I know, I can't stop thinking about him.'' I confessed, because it was true. All that was on my mind was him. 

''I am so in love with the idea of you and him together. Thorn and Rose do you see how ironic that is? '' 

''By the way are you two going out though?'' Ella added which made me wonder. Were we together? I kind of wanted to be. Maybe we were. I wonder what people would say or think. I usually didn't care but I knew how people acted and what they thought. A lonely geek suddenly dating a hot popular guy. How cliche though, I just hoped that people wouldn't pay much attention. It wasn't their life anyway. 

''I don't know maybe.'' I replied.
