Thorn's Point Of View.

It seemed like forever and after countless of nurses and doctors had come in and check on me, the one face that I longed to see finally entered the room.

''Hi'' I smiled, feeling more than happy to see my Fire Head walk into the room.

'You seem cheerful.'' Rose smiled, her cheeks turning red. Seemed like that was her thing and I liked it.

''Happy to see you,'' I said and I was. I hadn't had sleep and I was trying to forget the Alice incident

''Well, we have to work on the play.'' Rose said and walked over to the bed. She pushed the table over my bed. She then pressed a button on the bed that slowly raised me higher so I could sit up. I couldn't fully sit because of the wound in my side but I was high enough to see the notes that Rose had set up on the table.

''The character that I had to come up with, I thought could be a girl.'' I said and looked at Rose.

''She could be the one that made the main character like Christmas and feel something...''

Rose looked into my eyes and I could something flicker behind her eyes.

''You...nobody should go through what you went through.'' Rose said frowning.

''Hey stop that, I'm fine.'' I reached over and took her hand in mine.

''If you hadn't have come into my life things would have been worse.'' I said

Rose couldn't keep the smile from showing on her face.

We spent a good few hours working on the play, it was coming together quite well. We even agreed on having a happy ending. It was weird because every time Rose was around I didn't feel like I needed a fag. I didn't feel the need to get drunk. It seemed like she was my only drug.

I read over a few lines of the part that I had written.

''One and only wish.'' I said not realizing I even said it out loud.

''What?'' Rose looked up from her notes.

''Oh nothing.'' I said.

Rose seemed like she didn't think it was nothing. She stood up and took the page from my hands. I sighed as she quickly read over what it said.

''You feel this way?'' Rose asked.

I shrugged. I had written about how the main character of the play had made up with his father. That his father actually ended up caring for his son. It was a long shot for anyone but since it was a play, it seemed like something appropriate. After all, it was meant to be a happy ending.

''You want your father to care about you, what boy doesn't?'' Rose said, but it seemed like she said it more to herself than to me.

''It doesn't even matter.'' I said.

Did I want my father to act like a dad? Probably, but what was the point in hoping for something that would never happen? He was a drunk useless man who only cared about his prostitutes and his beer. Rose was right what boy doesn't want a father? But there was still no point in having hope. My father tried to kill me, there was no way anyone could forgive that.

''Here, work on this,'' Rose said and handed me another sheet of paper.

''It's where the character meets the girl.'' Rose said and I smiled.

For the next hour or so we worked in silence again. Occasionally I glanced up at Rose who was writing away, as if in her own world. At time I caught her looked at me and then we would both laugh or smile.

The silence was soon broken by a nurse walking into the room.

''Visiting hours are over.'' She said.

''Ok.'' Rose told the nurse and the nurse left.

''I don't want you to leave.' I frowned.

''I don't want to go either, especially when I have school in the morning.

''Do you have to go?'' I asked, not wanting her to go to school where she would get hurt.

''I do and I have to. It will be fine, I just, would rather spend the day here.''

''Come here'' I said and kissed her. It was a long kiss, passionate and for a brief moment I felt like I was somewhere else than earth.

''I should go now.'' Rose half laughed, her cheeks flushed.

''Text me or call me tomorrow, ok?'' I said.

''Of course, I will come back right after school.'' She smiled and left the room.

Now I was really tired. It was weird, how in one part of my life things were completely messed up and in the other part I was somehow being glued together. By someone that I would have never thought would have such an effect on me and my life.

With a very cheesy smile on my face I drifted into sleep.
