Theodore's Point Of View.
I was floating through white clouds. I felt weightless and free. I was floating higher and higher. I saw a bright right up ahead. I reached out, wanting to touch the light, feel it against my skin. Feel something.
''Theo''
A voice came from the bright light.
'Mum'' I said, floating closer and closer to the light.
''Theo please''
My mums voice seemed to grow urgent.
''Theo please help me, please.''
I started to panic I needed to help her but I couldn't, I wasn't going fast enough. The light seemed to be moving away from me.
''MUM I'M COMING.'' I shouted, trying to get closer to her.
''Theo, baby, it's too late...''
The light suddenly disappeared.
''NO MUM DON'T LEAVE ME.' I shouted, feeling pain spread through me. I clutched my side, screaming in pain.
''MUM '' I shouted suddenly feeling like I was falling down. It got darker and darker as I fell.
I woke up with a gasp. I clutched my side, it was hurting too much. I looked down at my side and saw blood.
''HELP'' I shouted, starting to freak out as blood kept coming out of my left side.
''HELP I'M BLEEDING.'' I shouted and the door opened, a nurse ran in.
''I need bandages and a doctor.'' The nurse pressed a button in the wall and spoke.
She pressed a clean cloth against my side. After a moment two other nurses and a Doctor walked in. One of the nurses lifted up my hospital gown and looked at the wound. They exchanged a look.
''We need to get you into surgery.'' The Doctor said and I could only nod. My side hurt like fuck.
''I will give you a small dose of morphine to ease the pain.'' The Doctor said and adjusted something on one of the machines that were near my head. I could feel the pain going away as the morphine entered my system.
The bed that I was lying in started moving. The nurses were pushing me out of the room. I closed my eyes as I was rolled towards somewhere.
Soon enough I was in a large and bright room. There were many surgeons around me, all wearing blue coats. One of them put a breathing mask over my nose and mouth.
''Count down from ten'' He said.
''10...9...'' I started to lose consciousness ''8'' I barely whispered before going into deep sleep.
I woke up in the same room that I was in earlier. This time it was much brighter, I could see that it was day time and the sun was shining into the room. I looked down at myself, someone had changed my clothing and the bed. I was all clean and there was no sign of blood. The pain in my side was no longer there.
I wondered where Rose was. I hoped that she would be here. What if she saw the real me and didn't want to see me anymore? I mean, what she saw was pretty serious. But this wasn't the first time my father had physically attacked me. Except maybe this time it got pretty out of hand. I never wanted Rose to know how my life really was.
I hoped that she didn't hate me.
Rose's Point Of View.
The ride home last night was awkward. In a sense that my mum kept asking me all these really deep questions of my newly found relationship.
''So how long have you two been together?'' She asked when we were out of the hospital.
''Not long actually,'' I replied.
''Where you planning on telling me?''
'I don't know,''
''Are you being safe with him?''
''Mum.''
''What?'' She glanced at me.
''Mum I've only known him for a week.'' I said.
Mum turned back to the road. It had started to snow and was already dark outside. I was surprised by how fast the time had gone.
''Is he treating you right?'' Mum asked after a moment of silence.
''Yes,'' I replied.
''Why was he in the hospital?''
I slightly flinched as the image of Theo getting stabbed invaded my mind.
''I don't know, some kind of an accident.'' I lied.
Mum looked at me and then turned her head back to the road.
''Why weren't you in school?''
Great, was this the Get-As-Many-Answers-Out-Of-Your-Daughter day?
''I came with Theo to the hospital.'' I said.
'''Right.''
''So it had nothing to do with those terrible posters?'' She asked and stopped at a red light.
I looked at the red light. Of course the school had told my mum. Why was I even surprised?
' It's stupid honestly.'' I replied watching as the light went from red to orange to green.
Mum started to drive again. She didn't say anything else after that. She didn't even mention Theodore for the rest of the night. I was glad, I just couldn't stop thinking about him. I wanted to see him so much, I wanted him to be ok.
The next morning I woke up pretty early. I wasn't going to go to school today. I needed to see Theodore. Last night I had spoken to Ella who seemed very stressed. The police had interviewed her too. We spoke for about an hour until eventually I felt too tired to talk.
I was sure mum would understand why I didn't go to school today. She even said that I could go and see him today.
At around nine I left a note on the counter telling my mum that I was gone to see Theodore.
Once at the hospital I had to wait a good thirty minutes before I could actually see Theodore. Visiting hours started at Ten and I had arrived too early.
''You can go see your boyfriend now'' A nurse walked up to me. I was sitting in the same waiting area where just yesterday I was hoping Theo would survive.
''Thank you.'' I said and stood up and walked down the long corridor towards his room.
