"Jonah and Chris aren't talking, I'm guessing that has to do with you." I looked up to see the girl from the party, her voice at a higher pitch than I remember. Reminded me of a cartoon character.

"It's none of your business so back the fuck off." She sat down next to me, glancing at the book I was reading.

"You're a very quiet person, Aviana, I never thought you could be so snippy with someone." I closed my book, already done with this conversation.

"I'm only snippy with people I don't like and bitches who can't seem to mind their own damn business." I stood up, grabbing my backpack from the floor and walked away from her.

I had no idea who she was, she just annoyed the hell out of me. I walked out of the library, sighing when I saw Jonah walking my way. He stopped in front of me, giving me a small smile.

"You decided not to come last night." I blew out a breath, looking everywhere but at him.

"Yeah, I texted you." He nodded, keeping quiet. I didn't know what to say, everything was different now.

"Why aren't you and Chris talking?" I said, not being able to keep it in.

I know it was a dumb question and I know he probably didn't want to talk about it, but I just wanted everything to be fine.

"You know why, Avi." I clenched my jaw, looking down at the ground.

"This is stupid. You've been friends with him since you were little. I just want things to go back to the way they were before. Try talking to him, please." He shook his head, stuffing his hands into the pockets of his jeans.

"I don't think things will go back to normal. But I will talk to him, okay?" I gave him a slight nod, moving to walk around him.

I shouldn't have gotten involved with the two. It's my fault that they're not talking, but at the same time it isn't. I didn't exactly do anything. It doesn't make any sense. They both could choose any girl, why me? What did I do to make them like me?

"Aviana! Did you make a decision?!" I jumped, looking to my right to see Tara sipping on a Starbucks drink.

"You were with me when I did... but, don't you think it's odd that Jonah and Chris both like me?" She pulled her drink away from her lips, staring at me quizzically.

"Uh... no." She made a face, not understanding what I was trying to say.

"Think about it, they both confessed they liked me. What if it's just some weird competition between them?" She snorted, wrapping her arm around my shoulders.

"You, my friend, have been reading too many romance novels." I groaned, moving out of her grasp.

"I'm being serious, Tara, what if this is all a joke?" Tara tapped my nose, then made me follow her to a table.

She sat down, motioning with her hands towards Jonah and Chris who were now talking. She tilted her head to the side, studying them for a bit while they shook hands. They both looked my way and I frowned, sitting down next to Tara.

"Okay... I see what you're saying. But, I just think it's all in your head." I rested my chin on my hand, knowing she was right.

I was making this all up, trying to find something plausible because it's weird that they were fighting.

"Hey, everything is going to be fine. They'll go back to being friends and lose feelings. What else can happen?" I smiled, moving to hug Tara.

"Absolutely nothing because life is boring and I don't do anything." She chuckled, hugging me back.

"Yup, now come on, we have an assembly." I furrowed my eyebrows as the bell rang, watching Tara carefully.

"What do you mean we have an assembly? I don't remember anything about one." I stood up, seeing some people heading towards the gym.

"You're really slow, Avi, maybe you should pay attention to the announcements. It's a senior assembly and supposedly going to be a huge surprise about something." I followed after her, sighing when I saw the girl from the library.

"Do you know who she is?" Tara looked to who I was pointing to and rolled her eyes.

"That's Jenice, she's a bitch. I don't like her." Sensing that we were talking about her, the girl stopped and moved between us.

Tara gritted her teeth as Jenice wrapped her arms around our shoulders, pulling us close to her, "Tara and Aviana, best friends I'm assuming." I looked away from her, not wanting to have a fake conversation with her.

"Yeah, since kinder, I'm sorry you can't relate." I smiled at Tara's comment, shaking my head at her while Jenice kept quiet.

"Riiight, anyway, I know what the assembly is for since I'm in ASB and all that shit." I moved away from her, crossing my arms.

"Good for you." Tara wasn't as nice as me and shoved Jenice away causing her to bump into a trash can.

She laughed it off, dusting the side of her jeans, "It's a senior trip and you know what, Tara, I'm the one deciding who stays in a room together." Tara stopped, narrowing her eyes at Jenice.

"What do you want?" I raised an eyebrow at her, not understanding any of this.

"Nothing, I just finished setting up who was staying in a room together and we're short a room so there's going to have to be three to one instead of two." I clenched my jaw, staring her down.

"And who's the three to one room?" Smiling innocently, she started backing away from Tara and I.

I think I knew the answer, but I'm just hoping I'm wrong.

"Oh, just Jonah and Chris... and you." She walked away and Tara threw her Starbucks drink at her.

"You're a fucking bitch! They won't allow that!" Tara yelled while Jenice started wiping the drink off of her.

I grabbed Tara's hand and started walking in the opposite direction of the gym.

"I seriously hate her, I didn't even know who the hell she is. Why is she doing this?" Tara followed after me, muttering profanities under her breath.

"I don't know, I would say it's because she might like Chris or Jonah, but if she did, she wouldn't try pushing you in their direction. It would be the opposite." I rolled my eyes, smiling when Tara started jumping up and down in anticipation.

"Oh my god, you're ditching! Oh my god, I'm ditching with you. This is going to be so fun!" I started laughing, telling her to start getting her keys out as we walked towards the student parking.

I don't know why she was so excited. I just wanted to get my mind off of this for now and do something else. But I also wanted to see a certain someone.
