"Mm... Chris?" I poked his cheek, trying to move out of his grasp but he only groaned, pulling me closer to him.
"Chris?" He slowly opened his eyes, staring at me before realizing that he had his arm wrapped around me.
"Oh, shit, sorry." I tucked a strand of hair behind my ear as he pulled away, rubbing the bridge of his nose.
I stood up, stretching a bit while he blinked the sleepiness away, "So, Avi, what's for breakfast?" I rolled my eyes at him, grabbing my phone from the nightstand.
"What do you want? More importantly, what does Jonah have to make?" He shrugged, walking towards the door.
"I'm going to get that asshole up." I nodded, staring after him in amusement while he opened the door before sauntering out.
I quickly texted my mom that I'll be home later today before walking out towards the room where Tara was sleeping in. I kept from laughing and walked up to Tara to see her tangled up in the blankets.
I knelt down, putting my hands on her shoulders, "Tara, wake up." I gently shook her and she swatted her hand at me, but I backed away.
"Tara, it's time to get up, Tara." She let out a groan, wiping at her eyes.
"A few more minutes, mom." I rolled my eyes, moving to tickle her.
She snorted, a giggle escaping her, "Stop!" Tara continued laughing, moving to the side while I pulled away from her.
"Damn, that's not nice." I went to respond until there was a huge ruckus from down the hall.
"You motherfucker!" I winced as I heard Jonah's loud voice followed by Chris' laughter.
Tara and I looked at each other, then started laughing ourselves, "Well, my way was probably a lot nicer than Chris' way." She nodded, sitting up from the bed.
She yawned, rubbing her head then stared at me with wide eyes, "Holy shit..." I furrowed my eyebrows, stepping away from her.
"Holy shit! You're wearing his shirt! Did you and Chris fuck?" I scoffed, crossing my arms.
"No, of course not. He just gave me his shirt to sleep in, it doesn't mean anything." She raised an eyebrow at me, but I just shook my head at her before walking out.
I walked down the hall then stopped when I saw Chris run out of Jonah's room. He ran right past me and then down the stairs. Jonah followed after him but I stopped him, grabbing his arm.
"It's too early for this and you two are annoying." Jonah pouted, stomping his foot before rubbing his eyes.
"Fine, I'll kick his ass later... shit, I feel like my head is going to explode." He started hitting the side of his head as if that would make him feel better.
"That's your fault, I'm going to make breakfast." He nodded, pinching the bridge of his nose before walking back to his room.
I walked down the stairs, slightly humming to myself and rounded the corner towards the kitchen.
"Jesus Christ!" I dodged to the side as a pillow came hurling my way.
"Sorry! I thought you were Jonah." Chris came into view, sheepishly walking towards me.
"I grabbed it from the couch... and hid in the kitchen." I just stared at him in amusement as he picked up the pillow and tossed it towards the couch.
"I swear you two are still kids." He followed after me into the kitchen and I turned towards him after seeing supplies and food laid out on the kitchen island to make breakfast.
"What? I thought I'd help you out." I sighed, raising an eyebrow at him as I saw the pans already on the stove.
"Hey, I said I'd help. I'll help make breakfast too." I nodded, grabbing the pancake mix while he turned the stove on.
"Make some coffee, please." He moved around me towards the coffee maker while I started making the batter for pancakes.
I yawned, glancing at him before grabbing some butter.
"Do you always come over to Jonah's house?" He gave me a slight shrug, reaching for some coffee cups.
"Yeah, but most of the time I'm at work or taking care of Gracie while my mom is working. Jonah always gets drunk at parties, last time he blacked out." He shook his head, rolling his eyes a bit.
"And you're always there for him?" He clenched his jaw, narrowing his eyes at the coffee maker.
"One time his fucking dumb ass did something and I took the blame for him. Wouldn't want it ruining his family's reputation so I spent a night in jail, my mom was mad and I lost my job." I poured some of the batter I made into the pan, not sure what to say.
"And you're still friends with him?" He scoffed, pouring some coffee into a cup.
"Yeah, I mean, sure I'm still mad at him but he's my friend. He'd probably do the same for me." I pursed my lips, flipping the pancake.
"Probably?" Chris didn't say anything, staring at the cup of coffee.
"You want some cream and sugar?" I nodded, wondering why he didn't answer my previous question.
We stayed quiet for the remainder of the time as I made breakfast. Tara had come down, but we were still waiting for Jonah.
"Smells so good! You're amazing, Avi." I jumped, looking behind me to see Jonah smiling at me.
Chris just sighed, handing him a cup of coffee, "Feeling better?" Jonah shrugged, momentarily taking his eyes off me to look at Chris before returning his gaze towards me.
"Uh... did you two have sex last night?" I felt heat rush to my cheeks while Chris chuckled, walking over to me.
"Nah, just slept in the same bed. Want some bacon?" Jonah nodded and I turned the stove off as Chris started putting some food onto a plate for him.
Tara was already eating and drinking some coffee, looking like shit with her hand on her head. She flipped me off when she saw me smirking at her.
I sat down next to her, quietly thanking Chris as he set a plate of food in front of me and some more coffee.
Chris quickly set his food next to me and sat down while Jonah clenched his jaw, walking over to sit next to Tara.
What the hell was that about?
