It was Sunday morning and Tara was over right now while I talked to her about Jonah and Chris. She wanted to know about what happened between Chris and I yesterday. She wouldn't stop bugging me about it.

"Okay, I'm leaning towards Chris." I blinked, closing my laptop as I finished my homework.

"What do you mean?" Now I was the one genuinely curious.

"I mean, I ship you and Chris. Sure Jonah is a sweetheart and hot, but I like Chris a bit more." I rolled my eyes at her, laying back on the bed.

"There will be no shipping, we're all just friends. And if you like Chris so much, you go date him." She snorted, moving to pinch my cheek.

"I'm not interested. And really, they were the little boys that hit you with a snowball! That's amazing!" She started laughing and I shoved her, smiling when she fell off the bed.

"Ow, that was mean!" She stood back up, jumping when there was a knock on my door.

"Aviana, there's someone here for you." Tara wiggled her eyebrows at me as I went to open the door.

My eyes widened as I saw Jonah standing next to my mom who had a smirk on her face, "Jonah here was just telling me how good friends you've become." I nodded, leaning against the doorframe.

"Yeah, come in, Jonah." My mom raised an eyebrow at me, but I only shook my head while Jonah walked into my room.

"Leave the door open." I groaned, covering my face as Tara started laughing.

"Well, that's my cue to leave. See you two at school tomorrow and I change my mind... team Jonah." She whispered the last part, pointing towards the small bag of candy he had in his hand.

"What are you doing here?" Jonah sat down on my bed, looking around my room.

"Just thought I'd stop by and hang out with you since Chris needed to go to work today." I nodded, awkwardly tucking a strand of hair behind my ear.

I've never been alone with a boy in my room, actually, I've never had a boy from school at my house before. I didn't know exactly how to feel, I just felt awkward and hoped my room wasn't messy.

"These are for you, I remember you said they were your favorite yesterday in the car." I smiled, quietly thanking him as I grabbed the candy.

"Um... what do you want to do?" I asked, not knowing how to start a conversation with him. Why am I like this?

"I don't know, let's go on an adventure. You and me." I shrugged, looking around my room for shoes.

I spotted a pair near my closet and quickly grabbed them, sitting on the floor to put them on.

"Where are you going to take me?" He stood up, a secretive smile on his face.

"It's a surprise." I frowned, getting my shoes on.

I hope I at least liked the surprise.

"I swear you're going to kill me." Jonah chuckled, his hands gently covering my eyes so I couldn't see where he was leading me.

"Okay..." He uncovered my eyes and I stared, feeling a small smile form on my face.

We were on a bridge over a small stream that had a beautiful view of trees and my smile widened as I looked across the bridge to see it leading to a flower field.

"Wow, Jonah, it's beautiful here." He smiled back at me, leaning against the railing of the bridge.

I wasn't going to lie to myself, but this made me feel like I was in some cliché romance movie. It was nice though, I liked it.

"My mom took me here all the time when I was little. It's my favorite place. I wanted to share it with you." I tucked a strand of hair behind my ear, looking over the small stream.

"I'm glad you brought me here. It's beautiful." He nodded, glancing my way.

"What's your favorite song?" I sighed, looking up at him.

"I am very indecisive, Jonah, you can't ask me to choose because I will always choose more than one thing and sometimes I change my mind." He chuckled, staring at me fondly.

"What about you? What's your favorite song?" He looked up in thought, tilting his head to the side.

"Uh... I don't know, I don't really have one." I laughed a bit, looking away from him.

"Um... Emma, what's going on between you two?" Jonah looked my way, the smile he had never leaving his face.

"Nothing, I used to go out with her, but I'm sure Chris told you that." I nodded, wanting to know the whole story.

I was curious. Jonah was very open, unlike Chris. So, I expect him to tell me about it... I just don't really want to ask. I don't want to intrude.

"You wanna know about Emma?" He raised an eyebrow at me, obviously knowing I wanted to ask him about her.

"Yeah, you don't have to tell me." Jonah smirked, moving to tuck a strand of hair behind my ear.

"I'll tell you. I met Emma at a party my mom had set up. We talked, I liked her, and we ended up going out." He shrugged like it wasn't anything special. I wondered if he had any feelings for her still.

"One day I wanted to surprise her, but I instead I got surprised. I walked in on her and Chris... kind of sucks to see your best friend and your girlfriend..." I frowned, leaning my head against his shoulder.

"I didn't blame him, it wasn't his fault. He didn't even know I was dating her. He apologized and I broke up with Emma." I studied him, seeing the hurt in his eyes. This did bother him and I felt bad that it happened.

"Were you mad at Chris? If you were, are you still mad at him?" He looked at me, the pain in his eyes deepening making me feel worse for asking that question.

"Yeah, sometimes I still am, but I don't want to be. I really liked her." I sighed, wrapping my arms around his waist.

He quickly hugged me back, holding me close to him, "Thanks for listening, Avi, you're a great... person." I smiled, moving to pull away, but he shook his head.

"Not yet... let me hold you for a little longer." I listened, resting my head against his chest.

Jonah was a sweet person, but that doesn't mean he hasn't had his heart broken. And sadly, his best friend and ex girlfriend broke his heart.
