Chapter 6: Lost Fight
Trunks and Gohan had been training for a while now. I could sense Trunks' power level rising and he seemed more skilled. I had become more hopeful. If Trunks can make that much progress in such little time, so can I.
Cheri told me she thought he would achieve being a super saiyan soon.
I envied him a bit. I wanted to train more and become stronger. My sister refused to train me. Cheri has become a bit overprotective, maybe because she is a new mother and has a significant other.
She told me at a young that I had potential. Now she won't even let me progress.
"Cheri. Please." I begged. She still said no. "Why does Trunks get to secretly train with you and Gohan? Why can't I join. I don't understand."
She sighed. "I just don't want you getting hurt, like last time." Like last time. I can't believe it. She is referring to the time I visited a friend in a city the androids were at the moment attacking.
I was nine then. Burey and I were walking through the park when they attacked. I wish I could've fought back but I was caught off guard.
They killed her, they killed almost everyone. I was one of the few that managed to survive, but it costed us all. Some were missing limbs, some suffered terrible injuries, and some had amnesia with minor injuries.
I broke my right leg and couldn't move. When the androids left and it began to snow. I remembered looking at the snow falling and my eyes fluttered shut. I woke up in a hospital room at peace until a couple minutes later Cheri came barging in worried and furious.
"I've gotten better. I'm always on guard, I-" I was interrupted by the wailing of Rai. Cheri walked over and cooed him.
"Besides, I need you to watch Rai." She rocked him back in forth.
"What about Zen? Or Buruto? Or Amai? They usually watch over him."
Why me? I don't want to become a waste of saiyan blood. I refuse to. I want to fight!
But something was wrong, I could tell from her silence and sudden tone. She cleared her throat.
"It's Seisan. She-she's fallen ill. Zen has to watch over her. He's scared and has to pay as much attention to her as possible." Seisan was Zen's grandmother and only surviving family member.
"Buruto and Amai are going out of town setting up shelters and making sure survivors are alright." I heard a faint buzz.
Oh no. Not another attack.
"But Cheri."
Her eyes stared me down. She recently cut her hair extremely short, leaving her almost unrecognizable.
"Please, do this for me this once. Please." My twenty two year-old sister begged. "And please don't tell them. Amai and Buruto I mean."
Her words reminded me of Trunks's desperate plead a couple of weeks ago.
"Please don't tell her. Please." I agreed as I did for Trunks and she was gone.
You better come back. And when you do, we're going to train.

Bulma urged me to come over. It sure was a struggle to keep shut tell about Trunks training with Gohan and about the current attack but forced my mouth shut. She was planning on making a time machine.
"Won't it be great? We could actually change things, Hope. Change for the better!" She typed in her computer.
Change for the better. Could this be too good to be true?
