Chapter 18: Take Me With You

Where am I-

Crash!

Screams and crashes echoed in my ear.

What is-

"Ahhhhh!" Citizens of this unknown city were in peril.

"Take this!" The voice of Trunks called out. Behind me I found him shooting behind blasts at our enemies: The androids.

Chuckles came out of them seeing his confidence.

Is this... the past? Everything is so different, it must be. But where are the Z Fighters, they should be here...

My questions were answered finding them laying limp on the ground.

No...

There they all were. Piccolo. Tien. Vegeta. Even my mother and father, Sora and Yamcha.

"I don't understand. It's so soon. They weren't even warned yet!" I called out.

To my surprise, there was no reaction at all. No one heard me. I was just I invisible to their world.

"What? Trunks! Trunks, can't you hear me?!" The lavender haired boy was too busy keeping the androids.

This can't be happening. Why can't I do anything?

Trunks was sent crashing into the ruins of a brick building. The blonde haired machine stalked towards the young saiyan.

"Wow. How disappointing it is that none of you boys could put up a god fight."

Here male counterpart with back hair down to his shoulders joined in. "Yeah. What a shame this only lasted minutes. I was so sure you'd be fun to fight. Shall we, sis'?"

"Get away from him you monsters! Stop!" I sprang forward to the fiends with flesh, hand curled into a fist. My body went right through the boy's face and I landed behind him.

What?

My fists and feet punched and kicked all around the androids but to no avail.

"We had a long afternoon. Let's be nice and make it quick unlike the others." The blonde suggested.

The boy agreed. "Come on boy. Don't mope. You get to meet your friends in hell."

He lifted a pistol, channeling all his energy into it. His hand reached over to Trunks' unconscious body and lifted his chin to place the gun to his head.

"Trunks no!!" He was powerless to stop the android. I want even here. This can't happen.

I threw my body forward and on top of Trunks'.

"Hope... Hope..." Trunks murmured in my ears.

A bright light flashed and a gunshot rang in my ears.

_____

"Hope! Hope wake up!"

"No... No... Trunks!" I screamed his name. My eyes finally snapped open to find a look of horror on the half saiyan's face.

"It's okay. You were having a nightmare. Everything is okay." His hand stroked my cheek. Trunks was sitting up straight and I was laying on down with my head on his lap.

"Trunks. I-I'm sorry."

"Shh. It's okay. Don't cry."

My eyes were stinging and an endless river of tears flowed down my eyes.

"I-It was horrible." The memories of what happened in the nightmare rushed back to me.

"It. It didn't work. The androids s-still killed the Z Fighters. And then- then they took you away t-too."

Trunks pulled me off his lap and onto his chest. "It's alright Hope. It was a horrible nightmare. It meant nothing."

But that's where he couldn't be more wrong. I knew exactly what it meant. It meant I couldn't stay in this timeline. I couldn't wait for him to comeback. I had to fight with him side by side. I had to protect the one I love.

"I'm going with you." I mumbled.

"What? Did you just say-"

"Yes. I'm going with you. I have to."

"Hope you shouldn't be afraid. The androids won't even be out yet. I'll just be warning your uncle and defeating Frieza. That's all."

"Trunks. I just need to be there. Do you not want me to go?"

His bright eyes widened at me. "Huh? I never said anything like that. I'm just worried we could change fine to much the more people bright back in time."

"It's true I guess. But they'll never put two and two together. Hopefully it could work... Please?" I held his hands and looked at him, hoping he was convinced.

Trunks signed. "Well, alright. We won't even be born yet. Neither of our parents will have started their relationships yet. So I suppose-"

"Let's go!" I eagerly got up and pulled up my best friend.

"Wow wait, now?"

"Why not? We slept and it's just about time. Bulma must have finished by now. Come on!"

"Uh okay. I hope my mother is thrilled with this change of plans." I giggled as we ran down the hall.
