Mia's POV.
.
That night, I spent an hour watching a movie with Luke in his room, throwing popcorn at each other for most of it. He had his arm wrapped around me as I rested my head on his chest, moving up and down along with his breathing. When the credits started rolling, I looked up and saw Luke was half asleep.
"Luke." I giggled.
"What?" He mumbled.
"Get up. The movie's over." I told him.
"Mia-"
"Luke."
He sighed in defeat and sat up, rubbing his eyes. He looked down at me and frowned. "I'm tired."
"Go to bed."
"But I want you to stay with me."
I sighed, shifting around. "Okay, but if you fall asleep, I'm waking you up again."
Luke shifted around and looked down at me. "Why don't you just break up with him?"
I frowned. "What?"
"You know what I'm talking about."
"Luke," I sighed. "Calum...I still...I still love him, okay? It's just complicated right now."
"What? Come on, Mia! When are you going to realise he probably doesn't even care about you anymore?" Luke looked hurt.
"No. He does. I know he does. Just stay out of it, okay?" I rubbed my temples.
He rolled his eyes. "Whatever. I just-I don't want to see you with a jerk like him. Ever."
"Why do you care so much anyway?" I looked up at him, biting my lip.
Luke glanced down at his lap. "I just do, okay."
I took his hand. "Luke, you know you can tell me anything."
He sighed and looked down at our hands then me. "I care about you, Mia. I don't want to see you hurt. It kills me when you cry or when you're mad or upset. I hate it so much. It tears me to pieces."
I looked up at him with soft eyes and blushed a little. "Luke..."
He leaned down closer to me, our faces only inches away, our noses touching. He bit his lip and stared at me, cupping my cheek. I looked down at his lips, which looked so kissable. Our foreheads touched as a small breath escaped my lips. We leaned in closer. "Ki-"
My phone buzzed. I jumped and quickly answered it. "Hello?"
"Hey babe." I heard Calum's deep voice through the phone.
"Uh, hey, Calum. How are you?" I asked, looking up at Luke, who looked disappointed and pissed.
"I'm okay. What are you doing right now?" He asked.
I cleared my throat. "Just, reading." I shrugged. "How's the wedding planning going?"
"Oh, great. The rehearsal dinner's next week. I was wondering if you could come."
I stayed silent for a minute.
"Uh, Mia?"
"What? Oh, sorry. I can't. I'm babysitting Delilah all week." I lied. It felt wrong, but for some strange reason I did it anyway.
"Oh. Well can you make it to the wedding? It's next Saturday." Calum told me.
"Sure. I'm your date, right?"
"Of course you are." He laughed.
"Right. Um," I looked back at Luke quickly. "can Luke come too? And Delilah? They'll be pretty lonely." I asked him, hoping he would be okay with it.
Of course he wouldn't be okay with it, but he would agree anyway. "Oh. Okay." He said with a flat voice. "Uh, I gotta go now. Bye." And hung up.
CALUM YOU STUPID BITCH
