Bailey thanked the man she stood in front of, quickly flicking through the wad of cash he'd given her. She turned away, walking back up to the house where she paused in the doorway. The house was almost bare, all of the Padilla's things had been mostly sold off in an attempt to pay the lawyers they'd managed to get. She had given the initial down payment, but since they Tony had been refusing her money. She sighed softly, tucking the money into her back pocket before she stepped out of the house; locking the front door.
She slipped into her car, backing out of the driveway to head over to the garage. As she drove, she thought over what else could be sold off for money, but there was little left. She shook her head to herself, clenching her jaw for a second. Not long ago, Tony had moved in with Caleb. The man having to all but force the boy, refusing to let him live on the streets or in the office of the garage. And she'd agreed with him. She refused to let him go through what she had.
The sight of Tony's mustang out of the front of the garage made her smile softly to herself, before it fell away at the sign he was writing upon. For Sale. It made her heart sink. She gripped the steering wheel, reversing into the clear spot next to the cheery red mustang before she shut off the engine. The girl slipped out of the car, looking over the roof of it at her best friend with a incredulous look on her face.
'What're you doing?' She asked.
'What does it look like?' He retorted.
'Something stupid. You got another one of those?'
'What?'
'You know I'm never gonna let you do something stupid alone.'
'Bailey, no.'
She shook her head, leaning down into the car to unhook the two necklaces that hung from the rear view mirror. She threaded her head through them, letting the familiar charms come to lay against her chest as she stood back up. Tony's gaze flicked to them for a second before he met her green eyes again, shaking his head.
'It's what they'd want,' She reached up to toy with the two charms.
They were necklaces Drew and Jeff had given her for her birthday when they were kids, paid for by all their saved up pocket money. She smiled softly, tapping the roof of her car.
'So, you got another?' She asked.
'I can't let you-' He rounded his car.
'Yes, you can. Come on, it won't take that long to clean out and polish. Which, by the way, yours looks like it needs redoing.'
'Does not.'
'Tony, there's streak marks. I can see them.'
'Damn. Ok, I see how it is.'
