The last Monday of the first semester had just come to an end. Me, Scar and Grace were seated on the benches of the basketball field with our school books opened, while the basketball team was practicing.
After only five minutes of studying, Scar raised her head from the books, clearly bored and stated:
"Lucas is, indeed, nice to look at."
I too raised my head and followed her gaze to the tall boy who was just passing the ball to Dallas.
"He sure is." I agreed. "He must be taller than Carson."
"Jesus, don't overstretch it." Scar disagreed.
"He sure is prettier," I commented while laughing.
"Little Daisy really has a crush!" Scar half yelled while hitting my arm.
"I do not!" I replyed as Grace looked up from her books and gave us a death glare.
"Would you two mind taking your boy talk elsewhere?" She angrily asked.
"Chill dude." Scar said while lifting her hands in a self-defense movement. "And what about you Gracie Grace. Do you have a little crush we should know about?"
She didn't lift her head from off her book and answered a simple "No". I didn't see her face completely but I could see she looked stressed. Probably because of the upcoming tests.
"You sure?" Scar insisted.
"Yes, Scarlett! Now could you please let me study?!" She angrily replied.
"Now that I think about it, you never talk about your love interests." Scar trailed on.
"Because maybe I'm not like you and I don't take fucking boys as a sport," Grace said finally lifting her head.
Me and Scar both gave her an awestruck expression, clearly surprised with our friends' comment.
"Excuse me!" Scar said with an offended tone.
Grace took in a big breath and said, "I'm sorry Scar. I'm just stressed with school."
"It's alright, Grace," I assured her.
"Yeah, no worries." Scar agreed while rolling her eyes.
"Well, guys I think I'm going to the library," Grace said while standing up and picking up her books. "I'll see you tomorrow, babes."
After she left we closed our books, because, in reality, we were only studying because Grace insisted on it.
"Grace stresses way too much with school," I commented as I looked at the boys playing. Scar simply nodded while looking absently at the game.
I turned my attention once again to the field, recognizing that a big part of me still thought that Bryson was the hottest guy playing, but Lucas really gave him some competition. I guessed Carson was hot too but for some reason, I couldn't look at him in that kind of way-
"Have you noticed something?" Scar asked waking me from my superficial train of thought.
"What?"
"Grace. " She says while taking her stare from off the boys, turning her body to me, and giving me a serious expression, "She never talks about crushes."
"Yes, I know. Maybe she doesn't feel comfortable doing so." I simply answer.
"Day, don't be naive."
"What? She can be shy about the subject." I say making her give me a suspicious look.
