Whiteness. It was all around us. On the trees, on the sidewalks, on the roads. The whole town was drowned in endless clouds of white. Balls of cotton spread everywhere.
It had snow for the first time this year three days ago, and today it was the town festival.
A cold breathe made its way to my body, making me hug even tighter the white blanket that was around me. This was one of the coldest winters since I had memory.
My laptop was on my lap, its overheating warming my legs, displaying one random One Direction's interview. As my phone laid in between my ear and shoulder.
"Oh, my God, Scar! You're turning into a little a devil." I laughed, "But I know that you fancy Rafael Carson."
I looked closer at the screen as she spoke into my ear, as I tried to analyze the interaction between two of the members.
"Well, you can lie all you want! But I know that you like him- No it's not because you're both black! Are you calling me racist-!" I exclaimed, "Yes!" I said while dropping the computer from my lap and sitting excitedly on the bed, "No, I won't tell Bryson!" I promised while receiving an annoyed look from the one mentioned. "I promise! Who's Bryson anyway?"
He shook his head at me not taking his eyes from his black PSP.
I slowly nodded while listening attentively to her, "I knew it! Yes... I've heard he liked Madison. Not that one. The one from- Yes, exactly! He's a jock anyway, you can do much better. Oh, yes yes. He and Bryson are birds of a feather." I said while smiling mischievously at Bryson who was sitting across from me on my bed. "Yes, he's my best friend and all but you know, one should never lie, he's a simple-minded jock from the basketball team." I laughed while saying it.
He looked at me warningly casting the PSP aside and pointing a finger at me.
"Oh, yes! You know how that basketball team is! Lacrosse team, nice guys. American football, neat dudes. The real and original football, sophisticated gentlemen- What? Yes... I mean soccer." I said while shaking my head and Bryson laughed jokingly.
Good God, how much I hated when people referred to European football as soccer and the sucker knew it.
"Well, anyway. What I mean to say is that basketball players are all pure jocks."
Bryson gave me a smirk and mouthed I'm gonna scream! And I showed him a glare that said You wouldn't.
"Don't fall for Carson! He sucks-" Bryson opened his mouth at the precise moment I was saying that and I jumped on top of him, and put my hand on his mouth, "Scar! I gotta go!" He put one hand above my mind and took it from his mouth, grabbing me and pinning me against my bed. And all I heard was Scar saying "See you at the Snow Festival!" before my phone flew from my hand and hit the floor followed by a crashing noise.
We both froze. I widened my eyes at him and gave him a death glare, "Bryson Kanne. If I pick up my phone and see that it's broken, I swear to God I'll break every bone in your body and ripe out with a tweezer every single orange hair you've got in that stupid head of yours."
He got off of me in a swift motion, he got off of me and I ran into the floor and pick up my phone. I let out a groan as I saw a big crack in the middle of the black screen.
"Daisy..." Bryson said reticently.
"I will murder you." I simply answer before jumping back to bed and attempted to strangle him.

That night at dinner as I was eating my soup, well, not really eating, but more of lingering the spoon inside the liquid. My mother was sitting in front of me, one hand on her own spoon and the other writing on her laptop. Since she had gotten that job at the hospital we barely saw her, and when we did it was simply to watch her work. At that point, I was as distant from her as possible. I rolled my eyes at her and looked down at my soup.
