We headed to quiet a large cafe. It had a wooden, cosy-shack theme to it. The chairs and tables were all dark brown wood, polished and clean. A fireplace was situated in the centre of the cafe and a fresh scent lingered around. In the far corner, there was a small stage, riddled with wires, instruments, and microphones and Ellie lead me to a quiet nook right next to the stage. She went to order us drinks and I pulled out my phone. I needed to let my parents know where I was, and just that I'd be home a little later.

No problem, just let us know when you leave and have fun. Glad to see you're making friends :)

I smiled. They were easy-going, at least. I frowned as I checked my phone battery. Dang, it. It was 5%. I calculated in my mind and realized grimly that I would not have enough battery to last me in time to let my parents know where I'm going.

 "What's wrong?"

"You wouldn't happen to have a battery bank with you?" I asked waving my phone.

Ellie smiled as she placed my coffee down. "No, but I do happen to have a charger. Just plug something out anywhere and plug it in. Half of these things and gizmos aren't even used. Besides, if anyone gets angry, just tell them I told you. The owner is kinda chilled."

I glanced up to see someone working behind the counter. He had short-cropped hair, a deeply chiselled jaw and wore a leather jacket. "Is he the owner?" I asked pointing to the guy.

"Who? Tyler, heck no, but I wish he was...he's one of the jocks. Popular hot guy, you know the works, and busboy at night..." Ellie sighed.

I grinned at her. "Someone has a crush."

"No," she responded poignantly. But her ever-growing blush gave it all away.

"So, your brother...does he..."

"He sings," Ellie answered and took a sip of her coffee. "Ugh, and here comes his girlfriend."

I looked up to see a beautiful, raven-haired girl walk in. All her clothes were obviously tailored, and her nail polish flashed almost as much as her jewellery. Albeit it was a little high-maintenance...I actually did like her style.

"There's the juice-box girl with Ellie, how are you?" she approached us. She cast me a quick look then focused on Ellie. "Hope to have a girl's night with you soon."

"Looking forward to it," Ellie said with a blank stare.

She nodded and walked off to take a seat with her friends.

"And your brother's girlfriend's name is?"

"Sally," Ellie answered. "She's...tolerable."

I laughed and took another sip. "I'm gonna find a place to plug this in."

"Sure thing," Ellie answered. "My brother is here."

"Oh, do you want to introduce me?"

Ellie shook her head. "Better not...." she walked off and I raised my brow.

"Ok," I looked around the walls. Every single last thing had been plugged into one mechanism or another. I focused on finding one whose wire didn't look too important. I heard some commotion on the stage but decided to ignore it. After all, this was quite important.

"Are you sure this thing is...." the words blurred into my mind as I moved a curtain and found a perfect place for my phone. It was well hidden, out of the way. And this plug didn't look too important.

I put my hand on it and gasped as I heard a heart-wrenching scream behind me. In my fright I gripped the plug and pulled it out as I fell back. Pain crashed through my core and I moaned. However, the screaming stopped, and I sat up. I saw people crowding around a person sitting in the middle.

Suddenly one of the guys looked at me, and guilt gripped my core. Did I do something!?

"Did you plug that out?"

"Yes..."I responded softly.

"You just saved Evan's life!"

My eyes widened. As the group started separating and my eyes made contact with deep, dark eyes of the guy who was clutching his stomach.

"You idiot!" one of the guys yelled in the background. "You said it wasn't live."

"I honestly thought it wasn't..."

"You didn't think to check?!"

My eyes didn't lose contact with Evan's. He kept staring at me. He wore dark ripped jeans, a red T-shirt, and his hair was brown and spiked at the top. He looked like a rock star, and he was just darn-gorgeous. How on earth did I just save his life?

"You're lucky that girl plugged it out before he got shocked to death!" the guy screamed again, snapping me out of my daze. "Do you need to get to the hospital?" he asked Evan. Evan shook his head.

"I think you should..."

Evan, who still didn't stop staring at me smirked. "I'll have my father check it out later. I've got a show to do."

The guy that was yelling at the other came towards me. "You can have one coffee here for free daily...Tyler! Remember this girl...she just saved me a lifetime of lawsuits for an untimely death. Good thinking..." He patted my shoulder and left to rejoin the group.

I still looked around in confusion. I bent down below and plugged my phone in.
