"So, where are you taking me?" I asked him as he started the car and headed north...I think.
"It's a surprise..."
"Do you say that to every girl?" I asked him. A smirk formed on his lips, but he did not even glance at me. I still couldn't believe that I was in his car on a date. I pinched myself twice, trying to make sure it wasn't a dream.
"Wow...silence," I shook my head and laughed.
"What do you expect me to say? Must I ask what girl? Or no, only you precious one? Or you're the only person to have shared this special moment with me? Please...." Evan shook his head. "It's cheesy and predictable, besides, every player uses that trick on girls to make you feel special."
"So then you have done this secret date before with other girls?" I asked and frowned. Things were about to get sour real quick, and we weren't even an hour into our date.
"Not really, they're too scared normally, scared to break something...."
My eyes widened. "Rock climbing? Paint balling? Dude, you seriously need to get better ideas for a date..."
"Do you trust me?"
"No..."
"You will after this..."
"Ha ha, very funny," I rolled my eyes to hide my shaking voice. I gripped the seat slightly. Now I was scared. Apart from dancing in private and the violin, I wasn't much for risk-taking. Now it sounded almost like I was going bungee-jumping...but at night? Hardly.
Evan parked in an underground parking basement. We climbed out, and Evan grabbed a large bag from his car.
"A picnic in a basement?"
Evan chuckled. "That's actually a good idea...for a cheapskate douche bag who spends more money on hair gel and "how-to-dummy" books than on their girl."
I shook my head. "Well, thanks for giving me the age old reminder that you are still a jerk."
Evan shrugged. "Well this jerk is taking you on an icy adventure..."
"Wait, what....iceskating? You're joking right?"
Evan only smiled and started walking. I followed behind, gaping.
"I have terrible balance, nevermind I'm not dressed for skating...."
"That's why I cam prepared," Evan lead me up some creepy dark stairs which lead us straight into a booth. Sure enough there it was, an ice skating rink. There were a few people there, not enough to be crowded, but also enough to feel homey. I watched Evan pay for the tickets.
"I've never gone iceskating before..." I said nervously. "What if I fall?"
"Princess, I won't let that happen to you,"
"My name is Agnus, idiot...."
"Sounds the same to me," Evan placed the bag in a locker and took out two pairs of skates. "I took the liberty to get your size from Ellie...just so you know, I'm not feet-stalking you."
"Great..." Evan handed me the skates, and I took off my sneakers, replacing them with these neat black iceskates. It fit quite well, and as I looked out at the ice-rink, I started to get excited. I guess this was maybe a better idea than I expected from Evan. I could give that to him.
I approached the entrance of the ice rink, and the cold hit my face like an icy sting.
"Your arm..."
I looked back to see Evan holding out a coat for me. I pushed the one arm in and the other.
"This is definitely not your coat..."I said.
