I tightened my shoe laces, trying real hard not to think of my first day in school. Considering I made a fool of myself, but also then saved Evan's life...I guess things evened out?

I sighed, and shook my head. I shouldn't be thinking so much about him. It was silly, and besides, he was a blatant jerk. Except to me. But I guess he had some decency not to insult the girl who just prevented his heart from being fried. Even though it was accidental. Oh Well.

I tightened my pony tail, grabbed my phone and headed out. It was early in the morning, and I loved going out for a run. The thrill, the heart throbbing and breathlessness was really addictive. It was also rewarding to push myself to go further and faster. This was one thing in my life that at least did not have to change. The suburb my parents moved in was cozy and easy to navigate. I ran past houses and headed towards the park. The chilly air clung to my skin, and the scent of flowers, nectar and freshly cut grass kept me going. I ran to the beat of the music from my playlist, but it paused, I sighed and took my phone out, but I did not stop my running.

I looked down, but just then I crashed into something.

Scratch that. I flailed down with it. And it groaned. I crashed into someone.

Perfect.

"I'm so sorry!" I jumped up and looked down to see a guy, close to my age, wearing a bright red hoodie, sweatpants and a pair of air pods. I offered him my hand.

He takes it and stood up. "You know, one would think my clothes were warning enough, but I guess I should go for neon orange with flashing white lights instead."

"I'm so sorry, I was distracted..." I said and covered my face with my hands.

"I can see that...evidently you didn't...you swerved right into me like a concrete truck," the guy stretched his neck, then his back.  He gave a slight, light-hearted laugh. "Seriously, it's not the end of the world. You jog a lot?"

"Despite what it may seem...yes, I do," I laughed and stared at him. "You sure you're ok?"

"Yeah..no...no biggie...is it just me, or is the world spinning?"

"What?" I frowned. Then gasped as he fainted.
