"Honey! Wake up!"
I pulled my feet tighter into my blanket. Yes, I was sulking. I felt absolutely terrible. I shattered Evan's heart. I'm a terrible person. Safest thing to do was to hide in my blankie. It was warm, it was comfortable.
Besides it was public holiday and even the candy shop was closed so...I had the day off. I was going to stay in here, under the covers. At least I wasn't able to hurt anyone's feelings then.
"You can't hide in there forever you know?" my mom spoke to me.
"Yes, I can, and I will," I mumbled.
"Sweet heart..." My dad's voice came through. "What's wrong?"
"Everything and nothing," I responded.
I heard my dad then whisper. "Is it that time off the month?"
"With Agnus I can never tell," my mom responded. "Leave her, I know exactly how to lure her out."
"Ice cream is not winning me over this time!" I shouted. I was not hungry. I was depressed. Absolutely nothing was going to change my mood. Time passed, and I still lay in bed, thinking about what happened between me and Evan. I guess the reality of our breakup truly kicked in. I may be in love with Keith, but I did crush hard on Evan. Now it was coming back to bite me, that and guilt.
I heard footsteps heading towards my door. I groaned and threw my blanket over my head. "Go away..."
There was no response, and I rolled my eyes. "I want to be alone."
"So your sister likes closets, and your choice of preference to hide under is blankets...well, that just makes sense..."
My eyes widened. "Keith?"
"Who else?"
"You're not gonna go away are you?"
"Nope, your parents invited me and my mom for lunch and potentially dinner, in return, I get your butt off the bed."
"You can try, but you will fail," I responded. "I officially and eternally ended it with Evan."
"Ooof, that must have hurt,"
'Why do you think I'm in here?!" I snapped. "Sorry Keith. I just want to stay here and vanish or change into a toad or something."
I gasped as the blanket was suddenly jerked off and I lay there in my Tinkerbelle PJ's. Keith's eyes widened. "Need some faith, trust and pixie dust to go with that?"
"Shut up!" I gripped my pillow and tossed it at him. He however only grabbed it and tossed it into the corner of my room along with my blanket.
"Give it back!
"Um...no,"
"I'm serious, Keith..."
"And I'm serious too... if you want it...go get it yourself,"
I jumped up and ran to snatch my blanket. I squealed as Keith wrapped his arms around my waist and started pulling me out of my room.
"Noooooo!" I squealed. "Let me go."
"You know the point of Tinker Bell and flying is to have Happy Thoughts? Well, same with me. If you don't think some happy thoughts, then I'm dragging you outside, Tinks PJ's and all."
"Ok, I''ll happily mope around in my bed!""
Keith tightened his grip. "Not good enough..."
"Fine fine, I am happy that you swim in a pool with yellow duckies..."
"Seriously?"
"It's the first happy thought that popped in my mind, that's what," I was heavily aware that Keith had his arms wrapped around me. I was thrilled, and so grateful he wasn't a vampire of something to hear it. I laughed hard. "What is wrong with me?"
Keith let me go and I grinned.
"I swear, you head for that bed, you'll regret it..."
"Little too late for that," I said and rubbed my eyes. "But I do need to get dressed."
"You have ten minutes...I swear..."
"If you find me hiding again, Ill regret it...I know," I said, but I could not stop smiling. As I walked back to my room, I shook my head in amazement. Keith could change my immediate dark mood swing to rainbows and butterflies... My dark, gloomy depressed day changed so quickly. I wandered what else it had in store? Either way, I knew it was going to be a good distraction, between what happened to me and Evan.
