Ch8 The Empress and the Doctor

Robotnik and Scratch were dragged through the crystal village screaming as the crowd threw rotten fruit and vegetables at their trembling faces.
"CA CAW CA CAW!!" screeched the chicken bot, "Look on the bright side, we're gonna be rich!"
"Excuse me?!, raged the doctor " Did you just say we?" He clenched his plump baby fists.
"Sorry did I say we?, squeaked the chicken, I meant you're, you're going to be rich"
Robotnik looked satisfied and after what seemed like a year...

BANG! They were thrust through wooden doors and into a sparkly and grand palace. The floors were pure crystal and little icicles of the stuff hung from the walls and ceiling. Robotnik looked up to see a female echidna in an elaborate dress of leaves and bark. Behind her was a huge Emerald the size of a bungalow. On each side of her was a guard. One of these was Knuckles as who you know left Sonic and Tails to defend the emerald. The Master Emerald.

"You dare set foot in my kingdom? cried the Queen almost laughing. She had a high voice and an almighty presence.
"Your Majesty and Royalness.. muttered Robotnik going on his knees. "I came here to present you with a gift. With that, Robotnik held out his palms which inside looked like a crystal.
As the Queen examined her new toy, Robotnik was whispering to Scratch.
"Heeeheehee, he laughed. "Inside that crystal is a bomb strong enough to detonate the entire palace." Scratch followed these words determined not to forget them.
"The bomb will be sure to kill the Queen AND her guardian friends" 20 seconds from now, we must begin running."

"Right "clucked the chicken.

The Queen continued speaking.
"However she said, You realise you are not meant to be here?"
"I had no idea your highness" said Robotnik.

Twenty Seconds to go.

'I think you have redeemed yourself doctor". Said the Queen smiling.

10 seconds to go.

"Well we really must be going your highness..." said Robotnik.

"Very well Doctor"

"Scratch let's go!" whispered the wicked Doctor.

They exited the palace.

Suddenly Knuckles the Echidna noticed the jewel in his Queen's hand flashing.
" YOUR MAJESTY LOOK OU-"

BANG!
The explosion was like fifty firework rockets. Scratch and Robotnik sniggered as they heard blood splatting on the stained glass windows. They walked off to the exit of the Hidden World..

Knuckles had managed to duck under a huge dining table as he heard shrill screams echoing off the palace walls. After the explosion his mouth dropped open as he saw the monstrosity that had been committed.
The bodies of the knuckles clan were mutilated and twisted and charred. Knuckles tried not to throw up as he dropped to his knees next to the Queen's body. Being the first thing the explosion touched, her dress was in tattered pieces and what was left of her face....
Well, it wasn't there. Knuckles cried all that day even as the police entered the palace. At last, he rose from his knees and clenched his fists. Then he realised something.
That man was the Doctor.
Doctor Robotnik.
'ILL TEAR HIM TO PIECES" he screamed into the air. He took a glance at the Master Emerald then dashed out of the palace.
