Vanessa POV

I walked back home on the verge of tears, but held them in. Once I reached my house and I didn't feel like using the door so I climbed up my ladder and sat in the deck chair every so often checking my watch.

Once it was 6 o'clock I went into my room and trashed my closet to find a nice dress. Finally after about 15 minutes I found a violet dress and some sparkly heels. That took 15 minutes also which left me with half an hour to do my hair and makeup. At 6:50 I was finished. I looked at myself in the mirror and let a weak smile cross my face.

I waited outside for Jack to come. Sitting in a lawn chair for 15 minutes I checked my phone, then it was 30 minutes, then an hour and Jack didn't show up. I got up and started walking towards his house. My feet were hurting and it was getting dark and cold. Once I reached his driveway I took a deep breathe and walked to his front door. I knocked once and no one answered I knocked again and I heard footsteps and the door unlock. His mom opened the door and gave me a confused face.

"Honey, I think you're at the wrong house..." she said still confused.

"No... Um.. I'm here for Jack..."

"Oh, we'll he said he was going out with a Vanessa?" she said.

"Yea, I'm Vanessa and he never showed up..." I said starting to get upset.

"That can't be right.... he introduced me to a Vanessa..." she said confused.

"Whatever... Im wasting my time and yours..." I turned around wincing as my heels rub up against my blisters. I heard the door and a get pissed. I took my heels off and walked into town. I stopped to look into the window to a restaurant that I've always wanted to go in. I smiled when I saw all the people there smiling and being happy to be with each other, till I saw Jack sitting with "Vanessa". I turned around and went into a Denny's dressed like I was going out. I was tired and let down, so I had no other choice. I had a hamburger and some fries. I was getting whistles when I was leaving, I ignored them and went home.

As, I entered my driveway I could feel the sleepiness in my body. I went up to my room and through on a Nike sweatshirt and boy shorts. I went out on my balcony and looked out at the skies. I heard a noise coming from the ground, I looked down to see Gilinsky holding a red rose.

"Jack.... It's late..."

"It's never too late for you...." he said smiling. I giggled and he climbed up my ladder. He grabbed my waist and pulled me close to him. I could every breathe that he was in taking and out taking. He was looking up at the stars.

"That could be us one day..." he whispered. I didn't respond in fear of messing up the moment and turning it into an argument. I pecked him on the cheek and twisted out of his grip. I laid down on my bed hoping Gilinsky was going to leave, but he didn't. He had this mischievous look on his face. I went under the covers and his my face, but he jumped on the bed making me fall out.

"Hey!" I shouted while trying to whisper.

"I want to cuddle..." he gave me a puppy dog look.

"Fine..." he jumped up and down, "but only for a little bit..." I said collapsing on the bed. He got down and laid next to me. He wrapped his arms around me and put his face in the crook of my neck and we fell asleep like that. Together.
