Chapter 42

Vanessa POV

While I'm waiting for Matt to get dressed I decided I wanted to change out of my outfit. I put on a 'Ramones' crop top with ripped shorts and white Vans. I threw my hair up into high pony and reapplied mascara. I grabbed my penny board and waited for Matt to get out of the bathroom.

"Finally!" I said punching his arm.

"Sorry.." he said pretending to be hurt. I grabbed his hand and dragged him downstairs.

"MOM! WE'RE GOING TO THE PARK!" I yelled hoping she heard me.

"Not so fast..." she said, "I enrolled both of you in the Private School down the road. What was it...?"

"Wood Bridge Private School?" I asked angered.

"I was enrolled there before I joined Magcon!" Matt piped in.

"The only way you are going to the park is to take Skylynn." my mom was upset with me and I was unhappy with her. Skylynn came running into the living room with my old 'Obey' shirt on and lipstick covering her face.

"Park!" she yipped jumping up and down.

"Yup! Matt and I are taking you..." I said a little annoyed my mom was making me babysit her. Skylynn canes down the stairs newly dressed and the makeup erased from her face. She jumped on my back and I hopped on my penny board and we were off to the park. The first thing Skylynn did was go on the swings. I remember when I used to come to this park with Nash and Hayes and all we would do was swing. That memory reminded me of Hayes. I hadn't seen him and a couple of weeks and he was probably worried sick. I shocked my hand and snapped out of my haze.

"You ok?" Matt asked resting his arm on my shoulder. I looked up at him and smiled.

"I never thought it would end this way..."
